| scale trail run
I think we should have a scaler trail run. Yes I know HOWL crawl but come on we need to get together more often as friends outside of comps and have some wheeling fun plus lil bit of snow on trails could be a blast.....so come on troy lets get one together...........

my gopher needs a final coat of primer and then some paint and clearcoat. then i just need to reassemble it. i plan to make a scaler in the future, but first i need to get a job, and thena car, and also be able to afford insurance. i plan to make a jeep wrangler rubicon scaler. i think i will use 2.2 mud slingers and make a detailed interior. i may make my own chassis. i was wondering though if the axial axles are too wide to be very scale on a hpi rubicon body. i would prefer to use axial axles on it, but if they are to wide i will just make a new link setup for the gopher and put axial axles on it, and the tlt axles on my scaler. i may build a scale before i get a car only if i will be able to buy a car before it gets too cold to bike to work. it would be 2-3 miles, which is usually fine in most weather, even rain, but when you are going 30mph and it is below freezing your face gets really cold and hurts.

I agree, we need a place that is scaler friendly. I know that howl crawl spot is good but I'm not really a big fan of the large cliff drops and from the pics chunky unscale terrain. Taylor falls is a gold mine once you get around a bit. Maybe like a Saturday scaler event or something in the future? That way I could go up and spend the weekend comping. Driving 12 hours round trip to drive my trucks maybe 4-5 hours got sort of old last year. |

I haven't even started work on my scaler yet just collecting the parts, still working on the 08 comp rig and almost done, it will be spring before I'm ready for a scale run. |

| i hate to break it to you stormin, but if a trail is good for scalers it is usually hilly, uneven and can be muddy:-(. i hope we can find a way for you and jack to join on a scale run, but the only scale trails i can think of are not very wheelchair friendly. hopefully someone has a good idea because i would not like to have to leave you guys out of it, especially since you are spending time and money on scalers and all.
