I am transferring to the Fairfax assembly plant soon, and will be looking for a place to live. Please give me your honest input on where I should be looking. I am married with a 5yr. old girl, so a good school zone is probably the highest priority(although yalls worst school zone is better than all of Louisiana's Also, I would like to be close to some good crawl spots!

Being that I am a traffic engineer the first thing I always think about is the drive to/from work. The fairfax plant is on the northwest side of town. If you live in Lee's Summit you will be looking at an easy 45 min to an hour drive every morning and night in rush hour. Overland Park and Olathe you will see close to the same. I live in the Northlands, and I drive by the Fairfax plant on my way to work if I take the alternate route (usually if there is construction on I-29 or 169). If you live anywhere up north you will probably see about a 10-15 min commute. Like I said in my E-mail, I don't have kids yet so I am not that familiar with the schools. Park Hill is up in the Northlands so you could do some research on that. The houses in our area are mostly new and prices start in the low to mid $200k which really isn't bad. My wife and I were looking at them but just didn't think we would be in the area for long enough to make a profit on one.

Harleys right, you can go north or to the west and find alot of nice places. KC kansas right where fairfax is though is not a place you want to be. Thats where the cops stop you and check you for guns or knives and if you don't have one they give you one! Just kidding. I am sure a good agent can help you out. I have spent the last 14 years doing auto glass and going mobile, so if you need help finding something be sure to just ask. Good luck. Later,Randy

I live in independence and the school district is alright from when I went through it. Blue Springs and Lee's Summit school districts are nice but all the people from blue springs and lee's summit think they are hot $h!t so its up to you. Also some places in blue springs and lee's summit are a bit pricy on living.
