| The MO Crawl-off
Alright guys it is time to get it all ironed out. The three clubs up for an invite are: KCRC, CMRCRC, STL Crawl The top 5 from each club will be eligible to earn one of two (2) invites to the USRCCA Nationals in Moab, Utah. There have been talks among the clubs of allowing other people to come and compete (both out of the top 5 of each club and non-recognized clubs) but they will not be eligible for the invites, just there to run for fun. All of the 3 clubs need to agree to this to allow it, otherwise it will just be the eligible top 5 drivers. The location will be Capen Park in Columbia, MO. We need to come up with the best date though. Jerry, Cory, and John make sure and chime in with your call on other clubs coming and competing for fun. So lets hear what you got so we can get this going |

Looks like this is whats going on already in MO for June. Saturday June 13: Hannibal Rocks Comp/KC Rock Race Sunday June 14: StL Crawl Scale Comp Saturday June 20: Honor Flight Crawl Did I miss anything? Are the other weekend dates open? I'm good with the other clubs taking part in the comp for fun. Although It may get crowded on that rock with 40+ people up there. Whats the format? 3 courses,4courses? '09 Rules? Whats for lunch? So who are you guys sending? StL Crawl '09 Points Series Top 5 1.Louis jpboy 1977 76 points 2.Stacey SACCO 72 points 3.Jason mtdriver 59 points 4.Corey Dratch 51 points 5.Erich Nacho 50 points See you at the top Dratch StL Crawl |

We have one comp left to decide our top 5, here are our current standings: I don't think 40+ people will be too hard. With one course per attending club and 5 min time limits on each we should have no problems getting 60-70 people through in a day. KCRC is fairly expeirenced with doing large events. 2009 Rules to the letter is my advice. |

I know if intereferes with the Honor Flight Crawl but I would suggest the 20th, that way we could shift it back one week if weather is a problem and still meet the July 1 deadline.

That sounds like a good plan for the date. We still have two crawls left to decide our top five here. I have no problem letting others compete, and the nationals invites will be only for the top 5 from cmrcrc, STL crawl, and KCRC. I think we should certainly hold 3 courses, and maybe do a final course for the top 5 drivers. 09 rules, and no 20pt max on a gate (no carry throughs). capen will have the best selection of obstacles. |

What do you all think of saying that none of the 5 elidgable crawlers from any club can be involved in setting the courses?

That would be a good idea. We will need a 3rd party to do it. Prerunning is a good idea, but we will need to get out there early. Notice I said no carry through. |

We would certainly appriciate it, any help that can be given for the comp. I would also like the judges to be non partial participants that don't have a stake in nationals invites.

| Well I am down to come out and help for sure on the courses..But I don't have much experience at all(more like none) with judging or else I would be in on that too.Unless someone wants to give me a crash course...Cuz I know I don't have any stake in national invites....But,guys just let me know when we get closer to the event,a time to be there and I will help out as much as I can with the courses and whatever you need a hand with. Sounds good to me, Capen has some awesome terrain. if it is 3 courses, each clubs attending non top 5 can set and judge. is the no carry through the part where you bounce your rig off one gate till you time out or point out? if so is that limited to the crawl-off contenders? Because i don't want to drive for 3 hours to drive my truck for 5 minutes trying to get through one gate get mad and throw it in the river. if not, then I'd voulunteer to pre-run. I'd rather not compete and finish the course than have to go home with a wet truck. |

It can be frustrating to totally point out on one gate, but we will be Judging the same as Nats would. It is good practice for the big leagues.

Another note, at Nats although there were 6-8 gates a course some of the gates on each course were basically freebies. A tiny ledge just to force you to take a certain line. With 5 min limits it also helps get everyone through if we have lots of people. I guess we could get a feel on that once people decide if they are coming or not |
