U4RC....KCRC Addition

So have any of you guys been following the U4RC races that the SoCal crew have been running at Glen Helen? Looks to be a whole lot of fun! Anyone interested in trying something like it, locally, for next spring?

Reason I ask...we happen to have a perfect place to set up a very similer type of course(s), down at the boulavard drive in. With absolute free reign, free rock, free dirt and the heavy equipment at our disposal to make it happen. All we would really need to make it happen are some strong backs and club commitment (work days, I know...ahhhh)....if this is something the club would be intereseted in doing that is.

Post up your thoughts guys...(any interest?)

In all seriousness....The drive in is open every sat and sun, weather permitting, year round for swap n shop anyway. So I would imagine anyone could get in and rip it up whenever. That's my thoughts anyway....

ohhhh ,So it not OURS solely? This could be the next "proving grounds" rc park. Hey Jeff, is this only a crawler type of thing or some sort of oval for go fast cars too?

I've know the owner for close to 40 years....dude is more of a brother to me than my own brother. Brian has told me we can do pretty much whatever we want to do back there....and I have a key!


edit: proving grounds may be a stretch, besides we have GH for that, but a nice wraithtrack for some fast racing action is really what im after down there.

Lots of potential.... enough area to make 3-4 stand and drive tracks (very easily), huge flat dirt area that could be good spot for an oval, unused paved parking lot above potential track area, turkey creek runs along the property (fun scaling area), and the corp of engineers have just built a huge berm/flood control (grassy hill climb type on one side, all rock on the other - maybe 300yds + long).

I've had great luck on fleabay for the hard to find colors, and you can just about count on one of the vaquero's down at swap-n-shop having a few knock-off's.........
