Arrow ** 2009 MTRCRC points series **

Our 2009 series is about to begin, we will have 8 comps and the winners will be crowned in June 09'. The top 2 finishers in each class will get a invite to the Moab Nationals 2009. We will run 2.2 , super and 1.9 depending on attendance.

We will follow USRCCA rules to the tee, so make sure your rig complies. Each comp will start at 10am and tech is at 9am, drivers meeting at 9:45am.

here is a link to the USRCCA rules: http://usrcca.com/rules2008.pdf

We will be collecting dues at the first comp, $25 for the series,it includes a club sticker for each of your comp crawlers and will cover the comp costs, materials and trophies for the winners at the finals.

The season points breakdown goes like this:

: 5 points for competing.

: 12 Points for 1st
: 10 Points for 2nd
: 8 Points for 3rd
: 4 Points for 4th
: 1 Point for 5th

: 1 Point for the top finisher of a course

The season schedule goes like this:

Nov 22, 2008 MTRCRC 1 ( Butte )
Dec 13, 2008 MTRCRC 2 ( Helena )
Jan 17, 2009 MTRCRC 3 (Rimini )
Feb 21, 2009 MTRCRC 4 (Bozeman )
Mar 14, 2009 MTRCRC 5 (BUTTE)
Apr 18, 2009 MTRCRC 6 (HELENA)
May 2, 2009 MTRCRC 7 (CANCELLED)
Jun 20, 2009 MTRCRC 8 FINALS ( Helena )

If you want to pay dues early, email myself, slobin3d or yawzer and we will get you set up. We have opened a account at the bank for a non-profit organization, MTRCRC, all $ will be there, we will have a treasurers report of what the $ goes for and where it is spent for the members.

If you have any questions and need any help setting up your rigs, we are all here to help you in anyway we can.

We are looking forward to a great series, see you on the rocks.

Would it be possible to have one of the series comps in the Flathead area or would it be just another "no show"?

you bet we would love to come up there. I am sorry that we missed the one we had planned for, but health and life happened, very sorry about that.

Not trying to stir the pot but I was wondering why only the top 5 finishers get scored points. Anyone outside the top 5 won't feel as if they achieved anything, scoring points will feel like an achievement and will keep people wanting to attend as many comps as possible. I have been around racing all my life and most events are scored with points awarded much deeper into the field. Here are a few examples that seem to make more sense to me. Also being able to drop your worst comp score is usually standard in a series this long, which this allows you to miss a comp and still be in the hunt for the top spots.

1st Place - 25 Points
2nd Place - 22 Points
3rd Place - 20 Points
4th Place - 18 Points
5th Place - 16 Points
6th Place - 15 Points
7th Place - 14 Points
8th Place - 13 Points
9th Place - 12 Points
10th Place - 11 Points
11th Place - 10 Points
12th Place - 9 Points
13th Place - 8 Points
14th Place - 7 Points
15th Place - 6 Points
16th Place - 5 Points
17th Place - 4 Points
18th Place - 3 Points
19th Place - 2 Points
20th Place - 1 Point
Event absence scored as 0 pts

This is how Nor-Cal scores theirs.

- Series points will be given where first place will receive 250 points, second 245, third 240 and so on all the way to 50th place which will receive 5 points. Non series drivers will receive points for the event, but they will not be tallied in the final series standings. When tallying the series scores you'll receive points for the actual position you finish.

- The driver with the best score on each course will get 1 bonus series point.

- There are 8 events in the series. Only 7 will be scored for the series. This will allow you to drop your lowest score for the series if you attend all 8 events.

I am fond of the first example since it keeps the scores fairly low in a series with 8 events and does a good job of allowing most everyone attending to accumulate points.

Just throwing it out there.

were all for having a flathead comp, the last one you invited us east siders lol, too was the weekend of my wedding and Ben was sick. we don't want to have a divided club, were glad that the flat head has become so popular, and would love to have you guys out here in helena, butte and bozeman. I'm sure theres a few in billings as well although I don't know who they are.

This is the way we scored our Fall series that we just wrapped up. It worked out quite well and we had positive feedback from all the club members.
We score each comp in accordance with USRCCA rules, and we score the series like Marty described above.
