Hey I'm going to be getting my crawler back next week. I'm pretty excited about it. I sold it a couple years ago to my brother in law, and my sister is now getting a divorce so she's giving it back to me. When I had it I lived in Utah and thus never did any crawling around here. I'm in Missoula. Where are some good spots that are close by. I'd really don't have the money to travel outside Missoula by more than a few miles so need to stick to the surrounding area. Any tips or assistance would be great.

Thanks,
Matt

Hopefully soon I will be getting another scx10 and be able to join a few of you guys. I found a couple good spots up rattlesnake, blue mountain, harpers and patty canyon before I sold my last one 1 1/2 years ago. Brian at treasure chest use to meet at his house every sunday for scaling, a nice group of us would go out together and have a blast..

Re: Bitteroot valley gtg

Sounds like fun. Keep me posted on what days you go out. I have to work tomorrow. I have always had Thursdays and Fridays off, and usually Mondays as well, but nothing is set in stone. Schedules are posted every Tues, but so far those have been my days off. I just started a new job about 4 weeks ago. I'm working at the Fast Trip gas station on Reserve St.

What kind of rig do you have? I have a Bully axle comp rig. Although I haven't competed with it yet, and probably won't for some time yet. If I'm not mistaken most of the Comps around here are scattered all around the state and sometimes in WA and/or ID as well.

I tried under the Orange St bridge, it's alright there, but it's a pretty dirty place. I have also crawled around the riverbed in Greenough Park. I found what looks like a good spot up Blue Mountain but haven't taken my rig there yet, that may come this week when I'm off. I went walking around Kelly Island a little bit, but not much. Looks like a good place for trail runs for scalers and some riverbed rock.

I have a Wk and a scx10. Both trail/scalers the wk is 2.2 and my scx is 1.9.
I am starting at Walmart on thursday this week so I really dont know what my future schedule will be.

If I'm not working I'm up for it, as long as we're staying around here. I got a new job and don't yet know what days I'm working. Waiting on my MVR to come back and a call from my boss.

*EDIT* Just heard from my boss earlier, for now, I will be working Tues - Fri. So I should be able to make it on Sunday. Let me know where.

No I didn't he decided not too. I almost got the SCX-10 Hilux in the wanted section. But it was a bit of a lopsided trade. My dual Tekin FXR's and Hitec 7950th for his stock axial ae2 and axial servo, or a Novak Rooster Brushless, neither ESC I could use though as I only have 3s lipos.

If you want to trade some parts, I could build an scx clone. Let me know, we can talk on sunday.

Re: Bitteroot valley gtg

Yeah that might work. Seeing as how I need to keep most of my electronics though all I really have is the roller, which in itself isn't bad. They are the lightweight Bully axles, VP SLW wheels, which depending on the body I go with I could stay with 2.2's and use them for wheels. I have 1 FXR and 1 Tekin 55t motor, the rest of the electronics would go right into the new rig.

Basically I need a chassis, tranny, drivelines, and 1.9 wheels and tires depending on body. I think that would be all I need to get up and running.

Although with all that said I can probably make everything I need and buy a used tranny, drivelines, and some scale shocks. Make my chassis, links, and skid. Maybe trade my wheels for more scale 1.9's. That may be a better way to try to approach this rather than trading off my whole rig. Give me something to work on over the winter anyway. We'll see, we can talk on Sun too.
