Default Montana Crawling Spots Thread

Post up where you crawl and why it is a good spot. Also, can we hold a comp there? Meaning, parking, rocks, terrain, snow, access all year?

In Helena, we like to go to Rimini, that is where we have had all our comps so far. Wide open spots for scalers and comp rigs.

Post pics if you have them also.

Whats up from billings, we like to crawl at zimmerman park in billings. The terrain is perfect the sandstone is a good surface for all crawlers. I would like to have a comp in the spring in billings , If anyone is interested please reply.

Keep us in the loop, we might swing down for that, or maybe just happen to be in town anyway.

We have 3 done Scorpions. 2 supers in the works, and 2 more Axials that we're tinkering with. Seems like they're easier to play with.

We're not as hardcore with it, just havin fun.

Went up to Lone Pine State Park in Kalispell and had a blast. Plenty of rocks/mountains to climb and lots of trails for the scalers. Don't know if they would allow any comps there but we could ask.

Default My Spot

My Course at home.
Set up is 3 short stages, 1st and 2nd have 3 gates, 3rd has 4.
There is "Out of bounds" lines. A Couple good holes to fall into. And something cool as hell... Whole new course in 15 minutes.
It's a small area... 20'x 8' (roughly) but is fairly challenging, and lots of fun. Plus after we burn some more of the wood and move some more of it, I'll have a li'l more room.

most of the rock I have brought home a few at a time from work, just picking them up whenever I can find them, and then bringing home 5 or 6 a day... prob'ly a ton of rock there lol I been thinking of goin' out by the indian paintings on hwy 2 west ( out past kila) good rocks for crawling and I think it's ok to pick rock there too, least I have seen alot of ppl doin' it , nice place to back right in. I just can't go too big... just don't have the room.

I guess going out to the local construction jobs affords you plenty of opportunities to "rock shop"
Never thought about going out by Kila... I don't see why you'd have any problems taking a few rocks from there.... I see people doing it all the time down on Hwy 135, near Paradise, where I plan on going.... I've got a 25' by 50' (give or take) spot I'd like to build a course or two on..... Lot's of ideas, but not a lot of free time to get it done:-(

Well one of these weekends if you're goin' down holler I'd be up for it... and when it comes time to start setting something up I'd be up for helping throw some rocks around.

I'll probably plan to go down there in the next couple weeks or so... Mike (mikeymike1969) also said he might like to go.... we'll plan it far enough in advance that anybody who'd want to go could

Cool man...
I don't think setting the epa would be too difficult for a scholar such as your self...
