Thumbs up Introducing: Big Baby..... Work in steady progress

Greatings Rc bro's. I have been peeping and buying and learning so much from you guys that it is time for me to show you my work in progress called Big Baby. Its named after my nephew who isn't here no more! Any way , I dont have the extreme fancy tools but I fab what I can fab with a dremel , drill, handsaw and imagination. Just a few pictures for now till I finish putting everything else on it. I am 90% away from being done. Please be easy on me for this is the first true scale build! Your thoughts and opinions or greatly appreciated and welcomed!!

Its the semi globe cab. Still have more stuff to add. Just came from a test run with my on road car on the back. then tried my scx 10 . Great success. Time and imagination is a beast! Got to thank everyone from RCC for showing and telling!

now I gotta build a cab-over again!

Looks great!

BWT: What's the width on that cab?
I might try to get my hands on a MAN version for a T5 build

+1

I'm def doing a cage on mine, these big square cabs look great with some tubeing following the contours. Gives it a serious attitude IMO.

Your build is looking nice, keep up the good work !

I have been so busy being family man 17Dean this last week or so , that I have not been able to get some time in working on my EXO cage for Big Baby ! Fnally got some time to get my work on and finally pull the trigger. Please keep in mind I am no welder or brazer . This is my first cage as well as my 3rd project worked with brass and brazing. I have some tings in store for all the scale junkies like myself with the ultra splash of creation and imagination. Before the pics , I want to give a shout out to all you guys that have been coaching me from far Dont Slow Down , the Ghetto Rig and Bondonutz! Now pics!!!!!!

Like I said ...work in steady progress. All comments and suggestions are appreciated...

Thanks bud!! If you must know , I used the masking tape as my plans and will make adjustments as I go. Numbered them up and cut, grind, sand, flux then solder. I have a game to go to today but is trying desperately to stay home and get back to work.

Lookin good man! Your joints have improved by far!! I've never seen a square cage before but it looks like it would fit the cab well. Can't wait to see more!

Even though its kinda late into the weekend , my wife finally gave me some free time to make it happen captain as we say ! Any how , here is where I am at now. Please enjoy & remember , this is my actual first and complete braze job. All comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Everything cut down and ready to be sanded.

My work area while clothes being washed and watching some you tube rc action..

Everything sanded and ready to be put together..

First 4 pieces put together.

More steady work.. Did I mention Im a newbie at this!!!!

Nail bitting time indeed while I was doing all this!!!!

Have more to do, and far from finished.....but close!!!!

My other side view.Have about 5 or 6 main pieces to get brazed... Really shooting for the end of this week to be done and ready to be painted! Time to roll up now!

Looking good man! Those joints are looking better! It's hard to get a lot of heat into a part that has multiple things attached to it.

Thanks Dont Slow Down.... I cant stop brazing!!!! Anyways...This morning after dropping the lil one off to day care I decided it was a good day for wake and bake and drive while listening to my morning jam. Any how , red and blue lights hit me when I am a block from my home smelling like a pound! Got a dumb ticket and came inside and banged it out in the lab! Was so ultra disgusted I needed to put some much needed work in. And this is the result from my early day!.....

This is the front windshield guards and its mounting piece.

I bet you will never guess what this will be in a few!!!!

Driver side with rail ladder..

Front mock up view..

Passenger side rail ladder done.

Passenger up close view.

I am a noobie with brazing , but learning more and more everyday!

That's cool with the mesh on there, turning it into a zombie apoclipse rig?
