| The DmG's ULTIMATE 6X6 i built the DmG rescue rig & had a lot of fun driving it. so i wanted to build a more capable rock crawling 6X6 rig. this is what i came up with , the DmG's ultimate 2.2.2 competition 6x6 rig. spent over three months on this project & have had blast building it. here are the specs: the chassis: 27" long ,5" wide & 7" tall at the highest point. loaded it comes in at 14 lbs. main chassis: main frame made from 3/4" X 1/8" alum flat stock with the upper frame made from mostly 1/4" alum rod & some 3/16" alum rod. all tig welded , sand blasted & painted flat black , with all alum panels polished ( inside & out) 6 custom made shock towers. drive train: 1 RC4WD R2 (up front drives the front axle) & 1 RC4WD R2D (in the rear ,drives the middle axle & the rear axle). 3 RC4WD Wheely King alum axles. 3 ax/10 heavy duty ring & pinions , with 3 RCP steel lockers. 2 RCP Wheely king CVD drive axles (front & middle axles). 1 RC4WD straight axle & straight axle adapters (rear axle) 6 alum ax/10 locking hexes 3 MIP CVD drive shafts. 6 welded on axle link brackets. powered by: Mamba Monster max ESC. 2 Holmes Hobby 7T cobalt motors. running on a 4 cell lipo. 2 castle BEC's (for the front servos) 2 hitec 5955tg servos for the steering with 2 DNA Wheely King servo mounts, 2 Robotronics arms & a hitec 225 shifter servo. suspension: 10 custom made 1/4" links & 2 fast-lane bent links (in the rear). 28 dubro heavy duty ball ends. 6 integy shocks,4 white losi springs up front & 2 orange integy springs in the rear. wheels & tires: 6 Mayhem 2.2 - 7's bead-lock wheels. 6 RC4WD ROK LOX's tires with stock foams. only had it out a few times now , but what a blast , this thing is all-most un-stop-able. with the current set-up , everything seems to work great. low motor heat ,more power than U need (lots of wheel speed) & long run times !! the only thing i may change is the dig in the rear , pretty much useless , not enough weight in the rear to make dig right. may change it over to 6 wheel steering. special thanks to RC4WD Thanks 4 looking. the DmG the Video !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hj9rtZIXI8E Last edited by the DMG; 08-11-2009 at 09:36 PM. |

Honestly dude that is awesome. If anyone has checked out Red Faction Guerilla than you have seen some like this. I wonder if they got the idea from Zorlac.

That's really pretty sick. The next one ought to be segmented at each axle! |

Sweet.... Both servos steering off a Y harness...same channel? Almost looked like there were some points in the vid that the two axles were steering independently. |
