nice, are you gonna try to use the trunion/walking beam set-up like the real ones? |
I will definitely be following this build, if you go through with it. HEMMT's are nice trucks. It would be quite an accomplishment to see done as a scale R/C. |
What axels are you useing?"thumbsup" |

Why dont you make some pass-threw axles? then 1 tranny and less of a chance of CLODSTALL. |
Started to work on "Al" again. -Mounted front Trans between the two front axles -Marked up the placement of the axles. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/8x8hemtt.jpg Here is a little rendering I made, MSPaint! http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...emttwarcrc.jpg |
Got some parts in the mail today. Pics to follow through out the weekend. |
Got some work done today, but don't really like it. Not sure if I will change it. Worried about the drive shaft size http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9051937.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9051935.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9051936.jpg |
Here is what the frame rails will look. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...t24/8x8123.jpg |
Lookin good so far. |
I have decided this build will be just inspired by a HEMTT, a semi civilian 8x8. The look I am going for is what I would think a rich redneck would do to a Hemtt if he had money! I found tires, there semi military scale looking, “2.2 HPI Racing Rock Grabbers”. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWHX7&P=7 http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/hpic4896.jpg Other updates... -Got 4 more ax10 shocks from Glenn(GGooler)*Thanks for the hook up GLENN!!! -Limited travel of "8" shocks, total travel is only going to be about 3/4"-7/8" -Got some "8" beadlocks coming this Saturday, will be painted flat black. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXRGT3&P=ML http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/axic8095.jpg |
Subscribed, looks good so far |
2 Attachment(s) I was looking at that same tire and wheel combo for a Tonka build I am doing. Here is some shots of what those crazy Russians will do with a set of 52's.. The wheel and tire look very similar and if I remember rite the tire and wheel combo work out almost exact for a scale 2.2 wheel and tire. Looks good so far! |

Interesting rims on that rig, you can see the innertubes. |
Ya I noticed that too. Would be cool to a show truck but very open to puncture. Guess it works for them. |
Updates... -Mounted Second steering axle -Made&put 4 link brackets on a axle servo plate. -Bolted on 2nd servo(8711  ) -Mounted 2 more Shocks mounts, 2 shocks -Bolted on new 35t -decided I will be using 14t pinon's To do list- -To much to list :annoy: http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9212418.jpg Micro-Flex shot  http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9212419.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9212404.jpg Finally opening up some 2 used axles I got, can you say "need new bearing" http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...4/P9212402.jpg |

Here is the rim. Sorry if this is off topic. Let me know how the tires work out, I may have to use a set for a build similar to this one but 6x6. keep us posted as to the progress! |
Does anyone know what size this bearing is? I need to buy some new ones today. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...axlewarcrc.jpg *Thanks in advance! |
