time for another update! Yesterday I went over to my buddy MTHead's again, this time to work on the bed of the truck. After a short lesson on how to use the mill I went to work on the bed supports. As most of you know from watching John's builds he doesn't do anything half a$$ed so he kept a close eye on what I was up to and gave me a lot of great suggestions on how to make the supports come out right. Thanks John! The bed is 8.5" wide and 11.75" long, just right for a MRC or small scale rig. It sits about .70" higher then the frame rail to allow full articulation from the rear suspension. Another cool idea we came up with was to use some Titanium tube John had floating around the garage to sleeve the drive shafts. Not only does it look cool as hell but it is super beefy! This afternoon I will be working on the cab back cargo doors and some other details before it goes to paint. |

OK, so I'll finish the Unimog and we can have a Truck Trials...If you would allow a 4x4 in a 6x6 comp.

This rig looks great, and like you metioned in your own post, the work is very clean! I really like that rear suspension setup! What is the width of that cab? I have one on the way. . . Any idea for the powerplant? Drunk |

It's turning out great and you did a good job using the mill.. However, think about tapering the supports from the aluminum angle to the frame (leaving them the height of the aluminum angle on the outboard end). It would get rid of that block look from the side and I think it would be cool when looking from the rear. Just a thought.. | |

Thanks everyone for your comments! Hey John, I wanted to do that very thing to the bed side rails yesterday but since I had to get my little one to the Dr's I figured it could wait....great minds think alike! The power will come via a FXR, 3s lipo, and a 45t Crawl Max motor...wonder if it will wheelie like my JK did with this combo?... Another small update...the cab back is done! Got all the doors, hinges and handles installed and also made a couple screened cut outs for the electronics to breathe. Pictures will come later. |

Ok so here's the pic of the rear cab. The Navy Satin isn't as matte as I would have liked but it will do. The paint was still wet in the pics so it looks glossy and lighter then it is, besides the pics have all been from my cell so they're not great. Next it's time to paint up the chassis and cab. the chassis as I mentioned will be flat black. The cab will be this same navy and all the black trim on it now will be repainted in the flat black. |

painted up the cab today. I think I'll add the black stripe that is in the cab to the cab back as well when I pull it apart to paint the chassis and bed sides. damn there are a lot of parts to these Bruder cabs! Some poser shots |
