A little more work tonight. The fill in putty i used on the cab sucked and didn't work good, so i just sanded it down and sprayed primer on it for now. I bent over the top section for right now too. They will have to be filled in later. I finished up the bed base raisers/supports, more on that later.

Anyways, some more pictures. It's still really rough looking. Alot of work yet to do.

It's running on a 75T, mamba max, 3S 5000mah lipo with a CC BEC PRO, tested it for about 10 mins today. No that top heavy, most of the weight is down low. The cab parts don't weigh that much. Crawls like a champ. Oh, it steers nice too, with two Hitec 7955TG's up front.

I basically got it to running status for this weekend. I will not be able to work on it the next too nights.

Again, I will be mimicking the truck in the last picture for the cage design and bed area.

here are some today from driving around Broken Dam, OK. Nothing fancy. I did drive it pretty hard too.

For only being 50% done and the tires not glued to the rims it crawls awesome. It climbs and sidehills great.
Only downfall, and I knew this, is the front approach. (but I don't care, this rig is just cool to watch run and drive). The front bumper hits on rocks alot but this spot had lots of steep vertical. I will fix some of that with a front axle skid plate.

It crawled just as good with the 2.2 comp rig (5.1 lbs) on the back.

Aww chit, now I gots to turn mine around and do dual front steering axles.......... Anyone used the Tamiya globe shells that RPP sells for $34 each to build up? Guess the accessories is what adds up on the price end?

More progress.
Reworking the cab.
Replaced the electronics box.
Made a lipo box from two servo boxes.
Added the side bars to the rear bed area.

Just one mamba max, CC BEC Pro, and a futaba reciever. 4pk on 3S. It's the BEC Pro that looks like the ESC. And that is what is contributing to the cluster mess of wires. I will probably shorten all of them up in the future.
I did switch to this radioshack box for future expansion for electronics. Not too scale in the cab but its better than what I had.

Thanks for the post. The body was about to fall off too.

This was good little shake down run. It crawls good, I just have to think about the setup on approaches.
The underdrive gears in the rear help this turn good too. Not to mention the two 7955TG's up front. And my hours spent on the second steer axle drag link.

Thanks. It has been alot of work to get it to smooth on top. Several thin layers of putty and sanding. Then some more putty and sanding. Still not done yet. I've had this bruder cab widening idea for a while now. I thought it was going to take 4 cabs but I was able to make someting decent from just 2 cabs and some .030 and .060 styrene sheets.

It will get up beat up so I am not too worried about it. I was scratching it up just messing around this past weekend. The exo-cage will provide more protection.

I was going to ask about an exo-cage. What kind of tubing do you have planned? I'm sure that'll really help protect that body!
