| Shane's 6x6 Trials Truck Build
I am about a week ahead of these build pictures. I am already over 50 build pictures right now. Had to narrow the frame supports up to jive with the axial axles. I jacked with the second steer servo mount for a while and the drag link for the second steer axle has taken the longest. I finally got a first draft. Steering link pictures are for second steer axle. I 4 linked the rear and had to get fancy with one of the upper links to clear the motor. Reign 6x6 chassis, R2 trans, mamba max, CC BEC Pro, just a 75t motor for now, axles are pretty much stock now. More upgrades to come. Two servos are direct wired to CC Pro and the signal wires are y-harnessed into 614 futaba receiver into the steering port. I might separate and run the servos on separate channels. The ol' 645mgs get nice and warm @ 7 volts after a few minutes. Will be using two 7955TG up front for steering. Underdrive gears in the rear as well. 16.5" wheelbase, 9" wide. 1.9" hummer wheels on flashpoints. On the cab. Picture is just sitting there, no final plan on location. I plan on taking two bruder cabs and making a 4 door cab (see last picture). I don't think the width will work, looks too narrow. I might take two more cabs and widen em out. Anyways, some first run pictures. I plan on having a rock ready truck by the end of this week. Maybe. More to come.. Last edited by Szczerba; 02-21-2011 at 04:20 PM. |

I welded a tlt bracket to my second steer axle steering link. Took two tries. the tlt bracket was a little thinner than the steel rod and I burnt through it the first time. Had to move the servo over a little to get the drag link geometry better. Little to no bump steer on the second steer axle now. Berg knuckles with some risers, high steer axial knuckles are too high. Conflicts with the frame on full bottom out. New Hitec 7955TG on the second steer axle setup now. On the cab. I don't know if this setup is going to work. Looks a little small to me. I really don't want to scratch build one but it looks like I might have to. It's too narrow too. I have some ideas though. |

looking good. What links did you use to locate the axles? i think i see some axial links in there. I am building a 6x6 with the same chassis but in black. I'm doing mine the other way around though and using built TLT axles. Just waiting on my RCP trusses to get it rolling.

It's a total mix. Lowers vary from jato rod ends with 8/32" all thread with metal sleeves to revo ends with cut down revo push rods. Uppers are a mix of 8/32" all thread with jato ends or some axial stuff I had around. This whole truck is a mix.

I four linked the front and added some caster, second steer axle is 3 link'd and rear axle is 4 linked with underdrive gears now. I'll be robbing the XJ to get the other 7955tg for the front steer axle. A Futaba S9157 will be going back into the XJ. |

| Yeah, i like watching these things run. I didn't think I would ever build one but I saw this chassis for sale and I had to do it. Kinda rough but just might work. Widened out 2.25". I have alot of gap filling to do. Hacking the interior is next. |

More on the cab. Welded up a quick T-bracket for the rear of the cab, one for the front is coming. The interior will attach to the floor via 6 screws. Electronics box between the two rear seats. I used up 4 packages of 60sec set two part epoxy on this cab, probably need one or two more. I am going to extend the frame up front for the bumper and cage. Bought some 1/4" steel rod for various tube work. |

You've been busy with my old chassis, glad to see that you are having fun with it. What became of those 2.2 HummV wheels and narrowed Flatirons?

Tightening up the front end. Got the interior mounted up to the base. Yes, there are two gear shifters, so what, wanna fight about it? It hooks on the front and then one screw just for measure up front (all thread with nut) and two screws out back by the passenger rear facing seats. All screws mount to the t-bone cross bars i made on the frame. Fabbed up the front bumper. I went with some bigger bar cause this will be bashing into rocks alot. A narrow skid will run from this bumper down to the front axle diff area. The exo-cage will tie into this and will be on a hinge setup so it can be lifted up to remove the cab. Filling in the body with putty and starting on the bed area now. Last edited by Szczerba; 02-22-2011 at 05:14 PM. |

I'm really digging this truck, you don't see many 6x6 scale trucks running the 4 wheels up front, they are always the more typical layout with the four in the rear. So thumbs up for being different I'll keep an eye on your build for ideas to use on mine |

Here is a cool one. BBW: 6x6 Edition I was just watching some online videos and then got inspired when BigSki post up the chassis for sale. Quote:
I will be at Broken Dam, OK this weekend for the NWARC comp. It might get some wheel time then. Yep, see above link. Your cab looks better than mine. That truck is awesome.

With the widened cab yours looks pretty good, too. It'll be your favorite rig as soon as you drive it.
