Default FREEDOMs Tatra 813 Kolos (Cross-RC DC8)

Finally, after years behind, before even releasing Cross-RC, I wanted it since I tried Spintires in 2009, I wanted something like this and I was finally able to buy it:

This is evidenced by the weight of the box: 12.9 kg, light as a feather hahahaha

As you can imagine, I will post photos and more of the assembly, I want to do an unboxing, and if I can I will record the assembly process, at least the mechanics.

At the moment I have only opened it to get the manual, which I was curious to see because I was not even looking for more than a photo in the German forum, if anyone is curious, write to me and I will send you what you want to know hehehehe.

The size like the truck, big and fat hahahaha, 88 easy steps to complete it:

And if I have seen many corrections in the mechanical part, many, if not all, I knew about again thanks to the German forum, but there are quite a few: :

This afternoon I will take photos of the bags so you can see each and every one.

I like building kits, but I must admit, I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw how thick that instruction book was.

It is nice to see they have taken the time to correct the manual, hopefully all of the corrections are actually there.

Look forward to seeing your progress on this beast!!!!

Here I leave some photos of the bags, everything looks very good, and although I have seen better organized kits, I have also seen worse ones, we will see how it goes with the assembly.

The wheels, as I already read in the forum , are difficult to heel, very very tight, and there is plenty of foam, so first, cut the foam a little:

And a little more than two hours later, I managed to assemble 4 of the 8 wheels, hard work, first with long screws almost to the stop and by wetting my lips very well to get the beads on, without wetting, impossible, but hey, here's the fun hehehehe:

Honestly, the assembly is what I like the most, but the truth is that it is very easy to make the wheels bead easier, not because the brands don't do it many times.

It looks like all of the bags and part trees are nicely labeled, are they clearly referenced in the instructions, so you know what bad or tree you should be using?

Yes it is very clear, but depending on what step , and it happens in many steps, you have to take pieces from several bags.
There I loved Vanquish, since each bag contained each step with the hardware of that step, the assembly is much cleaner, more so than with the DC8, you end up with many open bags but not empty still the end

Well, so far with the servos and the 1200kv fusion, it's 7.4kg, the thing weighs hehehe, everything is very tight, removing a defect in the chassis that I will show later and readjusting the front leaf springs:

Very cool, Thanks for sharing the build!

I've got a BC8 which is pretty fun to run. It has independent suspension and a giant skid the length of the rig, this must have a bit better ground clearance.

I always liked the Maz537, although less than the Tatra and its mechanics, but above all I ruled out the Maz because I don't want to disassemble the entire truck to grease the differentials, it seems crazy and absurd to have to dismantle everything and it is not the mechanical problem, it is It would be necessary to remove the lighting wiring and many things, not just mechanical...

I believe you, the mechanical part lasted less than I expected to be honest, you can tell that I love it, just as you can tell that I hate the paint job hehehehehe

Well, a little hour each day, but little by little I'm going with the painting and "aging" it, it's my first time, and I think it doesn't look bad hehehe

For now the wheel covers:

and here the logo, it brings it, in transparent pieces next to the crystals:
