Default New To Multi Axle Rigs

Hey I'm building my first 6x6 based off Crawler king axles and need some assistance with choosing a suspension design. Should I tie the rear axles together or 4 link both rears?

Just finished my center drive axle.

I did this on a 6x6 I built. Front axle 4 linked as usual, then the rear axle is connected to the front by the lower links. Then it had its own uppers as well.

Here is a setup I am working on. Mini trophy arms, and some homemade spring jobbys. But yeah, like noob has em too.

I like that setup it looks clean and simple. Do you have any flex pics noob? Has anybody seen a traditional four link on both rears with the last axle using a reversed four link?

Here is a crude simple illustration of my reverse 4link idea. The blue links would be the uppers.

Building a trial truck?

Someone tried it before on here. Couple google searches and found it. Just searched "6x6 suspension"

Also, try and keep the uppers parallel to the lowers in your design and parallel to the ground. Link geometry is important in any truck build.

So what setup is going to give me the best flex? Walking beam or a 4 link?

A 4 link, hands down. I built a 6x6 a few years ago using the Reign K2-6 chassis, which became the one that rc3wd sells. I used individual 4 link suspension on each rear axle, it worked so well I had to limit the travel on the pass through axle or else the drive shaft going to the rear axle would bind up or come apart.

There's been a few builds on here where someone used a walking beam and they managed to get decent articulation out of it, but it was a lot more work than a 4 link.

I'm in progress of building my second 6x6 with WK axles. I used the balance cart suspension twice and it is outstanding! I get as much articulation range as I want, well sometimes even too much.

This set up is NOT spring-ed, some people mount leaf springs instead of solid connection to the chassis.

Good luck!
