I have been working with a few people from RCC who have been very helpful to me. So far these people include: TheScaleAddict: The owner of "The Scale Addict", Brain, will take time to help you with all of your questions. He runs a website, The Scale Addict , and if want something he does not have he will try get it for you. Supporting businesses like "The Scale Addict" is what really keeps our hobbies going. I have purchased and will keep purchasing the bulk of my parts from them. Monkeyracer: (Custom 6x6 Truss Kit) He built me a custom kit for a 6x6 with templates used for drilling the axle cases for the mounting hardware. More will come on this great product in the build thread. I got it for a great price and I think he will make this kit available to anyone who would like it. JC Auto Design - SCX10/AX10 Axle Truss, Panhard and CMS options HeyOk: I will be buying a 3rd channel switch from HeyOK to control my lights. I will also be buying a brake light module from him as well to control my brake lights on my throttle channel. Although I have not purchased the products from him yet because I am not 100% sure which lights I will be using, he has helped me and answered all of my questions. Check out his page: HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place) Finally on to the exciting part! Alright I am back! The trusses came perfectly packaged. Each came in a separate bag and labeled. The front was the simplest install. It was just screwed in. The center axle, since it has the two drive sides of the axle, needs a extra hole drilled for the truss. The rear also needed two holes drilled since the axle was flipped. Included in both the middle and rear bag was a temple to make drilling supper easy. I used 3mm x 6mm screw to screw the truss to the axle. When the raised notch on the axle was not there I used 3mm x 8mm. I think it held better but is not necessary. Packaging Front axle Here is the center axle getting ready to drill the two knew holes. The actually truss is not completely flush on bottom. There is a notch cut out for the original notch used to hold the screws. This helps the truss have a strong bond to the axle. In the rear however it is completely flush. Here is the final product More to come, Vanquish Chub and Knuckles hopefully Axial CVD's Last edited by THX_138; 04-08-2014 at 03:47 PM. |

Back to building New Parts on the way 1: SuperShafty Top shaft 2: Dlux knuckle bushings 3: Supersoft axial springs 4: RR 32P spur gear 5: VP steering linkage I used 8-32 threaded rod to build links. I then covered the threaded rod with water line probably used for a refrigerator hook up. These links are only temporary to get a idea of what size I need. I will probably ended up buying links from vanquish imgurl On the front I also added axial cvds, vanquish chubs and knuckles. I also ordered the Dlux bushing kit and VP steering linkage to finish up the front. I barley had any room to fit the motor (7T) in the chassis. uploading images I need to figure out how to mount the front bumper. Thinking about cutting some aluminum or using picture frame angle brackets. image upload no limit free image host Next, I spent time trimming the body. I got it to fit how I wanted and at the height I wanted. I am going to try to order some earth magnets to mount it. Some pictures with the body. image hosting over 10mb upload images free upload an image |

Attaching the bumper Bought some corner brackets used for the back of picture frames. I then modified them so that they had a inch long slot that it could slid up and down on the screw before they are tightened for adjustment. image hosting without account img hosting photo sharing websites A little more cutting and it should be perfect. image upload no limit Currently the brackets that come with the bumper (that are already attached to it) are only held by one screw. I need to drill a hole in the back of bumper for second screw. Not sure if I should 3mm tap it or just drill and hole and use a machine screw. Or just leave it with one screw..... |

Started on the rear bumper. image sharing picture share image hosting sites Used a piece of angle aluminum and EPDM (roofing material) Just ordered some new aluminum square tubing and I am going to take a new one. Just a mock up. image upload no size limit picture upload Super shafty top shaft with Robinson Racing 32 Pitch spur gear. Best built RC part I have ever bought. Fit amazing and is so robust that I do not think anything can break it. Front bumper additions. Decided to do four lights on the "bull bar" I used Crawler dad Leds for the two big middle ones and two 5mm for the outer lights. I had to wire it twice because the first time my solder joint was in a bad spot and made the wire to stiff to get under the body. I used these P clips to attached the lights to the bull bar. upload an image picture hosting free upload image And not for the fun part. Let there be light! gif image hosting Completely dark room. picture upload sites I got all my other parts in from HEYOK. Hes a great guy and has helped me out so much. Check out all of his stuff. image upload no limit I dont know where I am going to fit everything on my chassis especially with the winch controller on the way. |

So I got the bumper together and built the mounts. I really like how its coming out so I figured I would show you pictures before I painted it. Here we go. image hosting 12mb I built my mount again using the same bracket for the front plus I made angle brackets out of 1" by 1/2". I cut it in half and then just cut them into the length I wanted. photoupload image upload with preview Here it is mounted. Right now I am waiting for my tap set to come in so I can screw it directly to the bumper without having to use a nut. gif uploader |

| Re: 6x6, My First Build. I'm not sure yet. I was thinking I wanted to keep the tires under the fenders but now that I see yours, that may change. The thought crossed my mind to widen the fenders but I dont know how that would look.

Got some more work on the read bumper. Primed and painted with bed liner. Some how fit all the lights in to. Was really tight fit with wires and everything. Replacing the front truss mount with a pan hard set up. Also going to order new links soon as well. Working on a rack for behind the cab. Hopefully that will be done soon and more pictures to come! Here's a little preview though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have left my project at home in NY and I am currently in Melbourne Australia. Hopefully ill get back home by the end of december. He is a video I have been meaning to post for before I left HEY OK light controller and reverse alarm - YouTube When I set a better throttle curve on the esc I should be able to get the reverse lights to be more constant as well as the reverse beeper since they both run off the same channel on the light controller. Anyone have suggestions for the rear and a bed? |
