I chose to go with gearing down and volting up. The stock transmission didn't have enough adjustability to gear down enough to keep motor temps cool. The Hpi GRU did have enough, at 7.2:1 reduction. My current issue is skipping teeth in the middle axle. | |

To be honest, I did not expect to have this rig on the shelf for 5 YEARS! I blame Snowrunner! Can you say inspired? I am glad Photobucket deciced to allow photos, despite their watermark across the center of the picture! The center axle of this rig was reassembled with through bolts. 4 2" long 4/40 screws and nuts on the end. Smaller tires are also on the rig now, a set of unmatched Falken MT takeoffs from my Honcho and a Falken edition scx10. Tires match, the rims do not lol. I ordered a Umg single cab, hoping to give it a more finished cabover. I also have a 17" long diamond plate bed made up. Still waiting on the cab, so bed placement is just a guess. Before, I was focused on performance, frustrating me. Now I am focused more on just a cool looking rig. Old school Tamiya 3 speed and axial trans for enough gearing to pull my house. I still need to find the other two shocks, lower the suspension, and get some driveshafts for the center....... Last edited by lonleycreeper; 10-20-2020 at 05:24 PM. |

| Re: Extradition Thanks Phil. I have been searching High and low for a cab over body big enough to look right on this chassis. Finally found one. The Wheely King tires are pretty useless for crawling, so this rig will be relegated to soft terrain recovery's. Think Mud Runner type terrain, Mud and Sand. Performance will be second, looks will be first, I may have to incluse a Mud pit in my back yard in the future. |

I got the trans mounted, and am playing with it's height and and relation to the servo, and the body. the Axial trans is a transfer case and I have to find some drive shafts that will work with 6mm and 5mm outputs. |

Making progress.... I lowered the front suspension 3/4" making steering angles much better, but the front y link now hits the trans housing... so.... Slapped an old bumper on... fits pretty good imo.... My spray can of yellow just fissed on me, went to the hobby shop and got another, with he same result.... So masks stay on until I find a working can of yellow. Last edited by lonleycreeper; 11-01-2020 at 07:19 AM. |

| Re: Extradition Thanks Szczerba, I am squarely blaming Snowrunner, If it had not been for that game, I wouldn't be motivated to finish this rig up. Yeah well Bubbles has gone through some recent changes, more of a back to her roots type thing. Bubbles 3.2 if you will... Bubbles 3.0 The Honcho did too! Trail Honcho, For Trailing |
