Pretty slick sir. Would you recommend this kit after having a bit of time with it?

I paid around $650 shipped for the kit and some extras with fast shipping. In no order. The parts are designed/built/moulded well and the hardware is good metal. Every part of the cab/chassis has grooves or stops for each piece to fit in to. I maybe used 1/4 bottle of 2oz glue. The bed that the truck came with is overkill, as it's like 3/8" thick and heavy, didn't plan on using it anyways. The axles went together good but I am concerned with their durability over time, some internet searching has revealed. See pictures in previous posts. I even think a small block of Delrin inside the axle housing to support the axle shafts close to the gears could be a fix as well. See my TLT comparison too. The lights and light control board are well designed and fit the truck perfect. Tires are soft but not too soft. Foams are mush. Beadlocks are solid. I really like the attention to scale bits on the cab and the suspension is cool and works great too. The firmer yellow springs are perfect. I was able to cut the chassis rails and shorten up the wb by 1.5" without much issue too. I probably missed something and rambled but yes, I would recommend it, even with the axle durability issues. I ordered from StellaModels and they had RPP type customer service. Last edited by Szczerba; 09-30-2014 at 09:05 PM.

The last pic is awesome Shane, VERY realistic. I like repurposing LEDs and containers myself.

Thanks for the frank review. I like the idea of a multi-axled truck, but think I might want to go the custom route so I can make a 9th/10th scale example instead. |

Thanks. I am pretty much done with the truck now. Just need to figure out a mount setup for the roof. Ill use a hinge or magnets. I went ahead and mounted the axial box with 3mm screws the other day. Last edited by Szczerba; 10-01-2014 at 02:49 PM. Reason: huikh

Can we see this rig next to another 1:10 scale rig, something everyone is familiar with, eg hilux or scx jk?

Nice build sir ! Do you think we can upgrade the axles with Yota II axles or anything else ? Thanks DOHC |

See a couple posts back for my TLT comparison and widths. I dont have any yotas anymore. The stock axles are holding up fine with light trail use.

Hi sir Sorry for highjacking your thread Thanks for the great infos. Building one now. Here are pics of my 8x8. Yota II axles are a little bit shorter, but you can put RC4WD 12mm Wheel widener. I will run it stock to see how it goes but I'm planning to put Yota II axles. I upgraded all to punishers steel shafts. Any idea for tranny upgrade ? Will probably test fit scx10 tranny + dual motor mount. Will post pics (on another thread ;) ) later. Yota II axle next to cross stock axle Thanks DOHC |

Looks good. I will run mine with stock axles until they break and then go with TLT axles. Good to know about the yota axle width, as I just sold off my yota axle'd f-toy before building the MC6. On the trans, I will run mine til it breaks and replace with an Ax10 and possibly a RC4WD Triton transfer case. The trans seems like it will hold up. I dont think you'll need two motors if you get the correct turn motor and gear it down. Looks like you got the yellow springs and AL spring mounts. Or they come standard with the 8x8? Hehe thanks for the yellow springs tips ;) Already have a 6x6 from a modified scx10 chassis. I really liked the dual motor, pulls like a beast ! Last edited by dohc; 10-08-2014 at 10:17 PM. |

I want to build a 2.2 version from the ground up but that may be a while. I took this rig out on the Crawlapalooza night run. Got into some thick mud and popped the first rear axial driveshaft off. Back at the cabin. I dont wanna clean it. Roof is just sitting on crooked. Last edited by Szczerba; 10-10-2014 at 09:37 PM. Reason: roof
