http://www.stellamodels.com.hk in Hong Kong

Website is cheaper than their ebay prices.

Got the faster shipping, only $25 more. Ordered last Wednesday, got it today.
Before they shipped they said since I ordered the yellow firm springs that the AL brackets were needed. A few
Emails and We had it added to the order. I read online from a few others that the stock red and black springs were too soft.

Cool. I'll be watching. Looking forward to a review from someone I can trust. Seems like a legit way to get a sweet looking MAN cab rig.

Yes sir.

Page 2 there was a bag of orings stapled to the page.
Only thing plastic on shock is rod end and cap. Shocks dont look like they were meant to hold oil. Just a few drops for lubrication and It looks
Like that will leak out the bottom.

Looks like you have to add an additional oring. Must have been a factory misstep.
Just put one more per shock on the bottom side.

Shocks are meh. Plastic rod ends are not very good at grabbing the shock shafts. Should hold up though.

1/8" steel links, again plastic seems less firm than axial plastic.
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/09/09/nyvu4yje.jpg
AL bracket setup on left is slightly different than plastic setup. Yellow shocks are pretty darn firm, we'll see. No instructions on mounting the AL brackets, i just figured it out.

Prop Shaft 09-08-2014 10:22 PM

Re: Szczerba's MC6 6x6

I noticed on mine the ball joints are very sloppy. one thing I have stumbled upon with the axle y rod end thingy on the top of the axles is, the rc4wd plastic rod end steel balls snap in and give a nice slop free fit. im sure they would give similar results on the other joints on this kit but, why not just replace the whole rod ends in these areas right?

I am going to build it up mostly stock for now, I guess. The driveshafts are definitley getting replaced as shown above. The axles, I'll just have to wait and see. I had thought about putting metal ball ends into the rod end but got too lazy to go out to the shop and grab some.

Note quite. Should be frame roller status tonight. I am going to need a team of squirrels and their little squirrel Snap-On tools to get this cab knocked out. I don't plan on using all of the bed, so that will save some time. And, and, I plan on shortening up the wheelbase a touch.

You work fast Szczerba. Great start and write up. I'm excited to see what you come up with on this one. The pot metal gears scare me, especially if it's going to be a heavy scale rig. The tlt and highlifts use pot metal factory gears and they don't last long on the trail.

I probably have 8 hours in it so far. The cab is not as tough to glue/assemble as read on internet reviews. It has slots that some of the pieces slide in and the instructions are good.
We'll see how long the axles last. The last axle has something going on with the pinion/ring mesh. One or the other is oblong. I put my drill on the pinion shaft and spin the gears for a while with grease and it seemed to free them up a little.
As you can in the picture below, the ring/locker have no bearing support! This is the rear axle.
On the center axle, they have a piece of delrin that supports the axle shaft right at the ring gear.

Negative, I don't see those lasting at all. Time for some narrowed SCX aluminum axles. ;-)
