I thought I would share some pics from my winter project. I have been sitting on these parts for a long time. Finally decided to start the build. I wasn't sure about the body when I started but I didn't want military or a truck. After stumbling onto the expedition van I knew what direction I was taking. The drivetrain is all MRC. The chassis is a stretched SCX10. Still have lots to do, but it is getting close. I am trying to locate a used Mongoose ESC and 18.5t motor combo. It has been a challenge since they stopped making it some years back. Will probably go with a cheap brushed motor if I can't find one. Wes |

Here is the front bumper and a mock up of the winch. It isn't mounted, so the bumper is a little crooked. Wes |

The pop up is working. It is a little fast, but I can live with that. Wes |

It's servo actuated yes? The dx4c and dx4s have a servo speed adjustment, you can actually slow the servo travel down. |

I found this little guy on Hobby King. It was just $12 shipped. Hoping it works as well as they described on their site. If so it will look much more scale. Some Cree LEDs from Auto Zone. They were out of a strobe kit, but wee the perfect size. Should be super bright. Wes Last edited by brazwewn; 01-31-2015 at 04:54 PM. |
