Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build So I'm going to give a tip most may know. If you keep striping your stock spur gear try a 32p duratrax spur that is a direct replacement of the stock 48p axial gear. No additional parts will be needed except for a 32p pinnion. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...2c0b193e9f.jpg 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build On the front axle I used the xr10 mod to give me extra steering and it was well worth it because the 6x6 now turns in about the same radius as my comp scx10. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Ok so this is a stolen idea, but I don't like head phones. So today the 6x6 went and picked up a load, a scale audio system. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...3c64b36c5a.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b49688b736.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...4b504c88f9.jpg 149 r/c worx team driver |

Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build I comp with my son so sometimes I'm doing repairs and helping him pick lines etc so tunes should help the day be more fun. If only scale a Margarita machine was made by anker. 149 r/c worx team driver |

Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build I'm planning on running this at my next comp with North Texas scale crawlers in a few weeks. I'll also try to put up some new videos soon. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Fish, truck is coming along nicely, I like the route you went with the speaker. The truck looks unstoppable, be fun to here how it does at your next comp. "GOD SPEED" |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Nice looking truck. Love the stacks and bed ! |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Well I was doing some practice with the truck and stripped the lower transmission Gear. So I just ordered a one pice hot racing lower gear and steel idler to match.. And a steel spur gear. Who knows what will give next. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Gotta love that holmes brushless power "GOD SPEED" |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build The stacks are made from carbon fiber tube. They have that grimy diesel look. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...7cab50eaec.jpg The hot racing gears showed up. The case didn't but hopefully the Holmes Hobbies brushless power won't kill the stock case just yet. I ordered some gunnar transmission pins just to be safe. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Thing looks like a beast!! Making me wish I had more time away from that whole work thing to get mine built:mrgreen: defiantly gives some insperation. |

Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Nerby149 here on rc crawler makes the chassis (149 r/c worx homebrew chassis) no clutter, I think you will like the chassis it does perform well, I will be running it at a comp in a few hours and hope to get some more running video up. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Those rear tires you're about to run look awesome! 149 r/c worx team driver |

Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build I just got back from a comp with the 6x6 it is a beast I made just about every gate I tried (yes I skipped the water crossing haven't gotten to waterproofing just yet,) I put up a few short videos. Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build man the 6x6 looks great ....I bet that chassis works great ( I know the carbon fiber one I have is fantastic ) ....I just got rid of my 6x6 .....may build another one later |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Utube under snapon boy. This week's are short the editing didn't go so well and some places were to dark. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build You are correct the carbon fiber chassis from nerby is so awesome my son and I both have the carbon fiber chassis and carbon fiber links with smw skids. When I got Jr the homebrew chassis all set up he now keeps up with dad no more wait I'm stuck!! We now have 149 r/c worx chassis on all our crawlers (except for my shafty because nerby dosnt make one yet) 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Small bump today! Gunnar's transmission pins came yesterday, I put them in tonight and |the fit was spot on! [ 149 r/c worx team driver |

Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Thanks KCCO! I picked up a go pro camera recently so the videos should improve in the near future. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8743f756d9.jpg Small update but big improvement on looks and performance, I added a ScalerFab ram power wagon bumper. It has a nice finish and lots of clearance for the tires and approach angle. 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...cbc23b6005.jpg I upgraded my links to a set of 149 r/c worx's carbon fiber with revo rod ends. They are very strong super light and look very cool! My other links were axial aluminum ones that I kept braking the ends on, now I should be good to go and if I brake an end almost every hobby store will have them! In using the homebrew 6x6 chassis I now have 4 link set up on every axle. To get your set of hand made in the USA links contact 149 r/c worx's. I also installed the junfac shafts I broke the wildbore 8hd shaft. 149 r/c worx team driver |

These are 3d printed and are very good quality. I tested them with 3s lipo and they are extremely bright, I plan on working with al from heyok to get a dimer/lipo lvc and switch to get these bars powered up. The material that is used is very good quality. My 6x6 rolled down a 8 ft rock sea wall today and it still works fine. I will update with night pictures/video when I get them powered up! 149 r/c worx team driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Looks great well done..."thumbsup" |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build Looks good! What did the wheelbases work out to be? |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build 17 over all and 11.5 to the first rear axle. The chassis is amazingly versatile and my favorite rig to run except for my xr10. 149 r/c worx |
Snapon' s 6x6 build Thanks, yeah I was looking for something that I could get that short to the first axle. I'd like to get the rears closer if I could and still make things work. Sent from the can using Tapatalk |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build With all the holes in the home brew chassis I bet you can get it where you want it. I use the extra links I had. 149 r/c worx |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build I love your truck 8) Can you tell me some sizes of it: overall length, wheelbase between front and central axles, wheelbase between central and rear axles, tires diameter ? And, it's probably a silly question, but I just discovering homemade 6x6 so... how did you make central axle with 2 shafts, 1 on each side ? |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build I think my rig is approximately 18 inches over all. You can build the center axle easily with two sets of housings and flip the rear axle. 149 r/c worx /scalerfab Team Driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build So I'm thinking about adding rear steering, the question is do I need to put servos on both rear axles? 149 r/c worx /scalerfab Team Driver |
Re: Snapon' s 6x6 build No, not necessary. Turns great with just the front and the rear. But I can tell the middle axle pushes the rig into turns, so having all turn would help.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6332688553.jpg Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk |
