Looks great. Nice job.

Re: TMNT 6x6

Changed over from dual 4-link to a walking beam. Might try to attach the beams with rod ends so it get a little more articulation. I think it's pretty good though. Much more solid now. Just have to make everything pretty now.

Re: TMNT 6x6

What chassis did you use? And was it hard to cut and glue the body?

Re: TMNT 6x6

I used an SCX10 chassis then for the rear added section I used ascender frame rails. They have a bunch of holes for the variable wheelbase. Wasn't too hard to cut the body. I used styrene to fill voids and strengthen the seam. You can see in the pictures where I cut and filled. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...01db740b3f.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b293ac941e.jpg

Thanks, looks great. I am thinking about cutting mine right before the fenders. Put thinking to use a dremel or by hand saw.

Re: TMNT 6x6

How did you mount the body?

I just used the 4 mounting holes on the body with some angle aluminum.

Re: TMNT 6x6

Pretty cool rig. How do the ascender rear rails fit the scx10 chassis? Have both currently at my disposal but would save me some effort making a new chassis from scratch.

Re: TMNT 6x6

Fit pretty good. I used an ascender skid to connect the two. Had to grind down the part of the skid that slides into the back of the SCX10 frame. Have 2 bolts at each corner holding it and it has zero play. That last picture you see looks nothing like what I have now for the rear suspension.

So easy the way you mounted the body. Unfortunately i dremeled those mounting points away

Re: TMNT 6x6

Can we see a picture of the current walking beam rear suspension? Thanks!
Ben

Re: TMNT 6x6

That last picture is current, though not a walking beam. I seam to not have taken any pictures of the walking beam. I attached both axles with an aluminum plate and had it hinged in the middle. The hinge was bolted directly to the frame. There was no shocks on it at all, didn't really need it.

I am now running a front motor mount and a transfer case. My idea was that I don't really like the pass through axle. If my current suspension setup works like I hope it does, I plan on running no pass through. I have the transfer case that has dual rear outputs. I would then run a second transfer case and each rear axle would have its own driveshaft. I also just purchased a set of metal drive shafts from Cross RC, that were made for their 6x6. They look very nice, can't wait to see how they perform.

I recently purchased some CBERCFAB gear shock towers. I inverted them and used them for my link mount. Works better and looks way better as well. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...124e766313.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d119a1c74c.jpg

Looks good. I am working on a turtle 6*6 truck myself also. Inspired by this one and another turtle truck build here.

That's probably the one I was inspired by
