Definitely interested in hearing how this works out. And how your turning radius is affected.

Well, I couldnt wait, I robbed the rear open diff from my monster beetle and put it in...... it made absolutely NO difference at all.... I am kinda surpised it didnt help at least a little bit but the bigger surprise was when I tried to crawl over the stone blocks here at the rental...

the front started to climb, then one front tire started spinning and the rears just pushed the rig off to the side...kinda like the rear trying to meet the front... interesting ..

I was thinking both rear axles would continue to push the front end.

I too thought the rear would just keep pushing the front up, but it didnt... The only difference I seen that could be good was with the open diff there was no crab walking when turned sharp...with locked diff you get the crab walking when turned sharp...

the next upgrade after tires is to see about a winch..not sure, how to mount a scale winch since the cab flips forward. A servo winch will have issues as well with the steering servo on the axle. I will have to study on this a while, may have to end up doing a CMS and servo winch...

Remote mount the servo winch towards the rear and run the line forward thru small tubing. That's my intentions.

I second this. You could always add a scale winch upfront just to run the line through so it looks like you are using that one

Well, when I get an idea I run with it right away! turns out there was enough room to get the winch plate in and still keep my cab opening the way it was. I just had to trim the hinges a bit to allow for the winch plate. I also fabbed up a quick bumper andwelded it in as well....I think it looks much better now. I have ordered a 9.5ti warn winch, I already have a heyok wireless winch controller I can use with it. The rear mount idea would complicate it even more as I have several obstacles in the way.

I got it installed and running, I like it! The black styrene plate is for the Heyok wireless winch controller..
