No worries. But I'm blaming you for my winter build. Just getting parts together for a 6x6.

Neat video explaining how a basic steam locomotive works, in case anyone is curious.

Thanks for posting that. I presume that the real Loco Hauk also burns diesel oil to generate it's steam. Coal would be laughably inefficient.

Dumb question, is it actually going to be steam powered?

Read the OP, and then all the other things I say about Steam Engines. Yes, this will be steam powered, just like the actual truck.

Hey, im just a dummy I can't afford expensive things. I believe it it is just pricey. Not to mention all of the specialty drivetrain that it requires to make it. Again I have never seen it done.

Much like the 1:1, the steam boiler will be for producing steam as show, not energy for propulsion.

There's still electrics, in the form of the receiever and servos to regulate all the steam features and steering - but that's a necessity. Other than that, I'm doing this for the challenge and to showcase what's possible. I'm not first to make a steam powered RC, and won't be the last.

You need to do your research:

Also I believe that the 1:1 is powered by a steam engine, it is possible I just can't picture it in such a small package like an rc. God luck on the build, and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Do a YouTube search for "Live Steam Powered RC Truck", it's been done before.

You do know they have 1/10 gas and Nitro cars and trucks, using steam isn't all that hard to figure out.

I have a Live Steam locomotive for my railroad( 1/20 scale), add a battery, esc, rx, and a servo, and it's RC. There are also Live Steam Traction Engines, already have the gear train, just change the gear ratio, add some rubber tires, rx, esc, and battery, and you're there again.

Okay, well now that this thread has derailed (see what I did there?) slightly, back to the show.

Big box from Germany came today.

Inside the big box was a smaller, but heavier box.

Quality, german engineered box. You can tell just by looking that awesomeness is inside.

And I was right.

This black beauty is so fricking gorgeous. So precise in every way.

I can't wait to sort through the functions of how it all works. Oh...

That's a lot of german. Time to OCR this manual and copy/paste into google translate!

Two pistons better than one.

And now, the biggest question, will it fit?

Of course it will! I measured a hundred times and bought once!

Can't wait to take this JK back to the steam age. Oh yeah, whistle unit for Choo Choo Choosing you.
