I have some assorted brass tubing on its way for chassis duty. Need some leave spring hangers, any suggestions guys? I do have a large assortment of carbon fiber sheets and tubes also, they will be useful in sub chassis construction. I've been building cardboard templates for the steering components, it'll be interesting. |

If you would like any close-ups, let me know. I have a buddy who owns a couple of these. Looking forward to seeing the RC model. |

Yes indeed , I have had trouble locating any pictures of the steering and suspension at all. I know the concept of how it is set up but close-up pics would be great. | |

Sent some pics, but here is a video that may be more useful. You can see the hydraulic ram and rods that do the pushing and pulling of the front and rear fifth wheels. |

Thanks so much, the pictures are priceless to me for this build as I don't have access to any of these in Oklahoma. I was able to locate a old parts manual online yesterday that has the steering parts shown individual so they will help in part layout also. |

Well, this has been a struggle for me so far. I have some parts figured out but because of weight issues I have decided to go a different direction with part design. I have the parts for my new 3D printer starting to arrive and will be learning all I can about this to produce some scale looking parts for the Sno Cat. Updates to come . |

| Re: Tucker Sno Cat I think I got the printer lined out and slicing software too. Now the 3D modeling , well I'm kind of in kindergarten if ya kbow what I mean . I'm hoping not to have to spend money on anything I can find , and am able to understand The main thing I need to concentrate on is the inner plate for the track driver and idlers. 3D modeling... the bane of my existence right now, trying to find paying work using the software that I went to school for... I think that I saw in your 3D printer thread that you're using Fusion 360. I've had zero luck trying to figure out how to model the way that they want you to, so I can't really help with that. If you have a part w/ full dimensions I'd be willing to model it in SW and send you the .stl file if that helps. Last edited by BigSki; 02-28-2018 at 06:50 PM. |
