No problem. Cantilever would work pretty good with this setup as well.

Progress has been slow. Got some parts in today. Rear driveshaft, GMade SR02 wheels and VP stage one kit.

Well if you get the third axle to articulate correctly let me know, still having trouble with it.

Getting the axle to articulate without moving in an arc. Also keeping driveshaft together.

I know it's a lot of work but you should think of moving to a walking beam like Sczerba has or a setup like mine. You will never get what your looking for out of a simple 4 link like you have without limiting the suspension articulation to almost nothing

Hey Ricochet, closely following your build as it is similar to what I want to do. Basically, I want a decent performing chassis and drivetrain with classic truck looks, not for competition, just fun crawling/adventuring. I really like the look of the Cross RC HC6 (US military 5-ton truck) but not thrilled with what's underneath the body. I'm returning to RC after a long hiatus, so kind of a functional noob in full research mode at this point.

I was hoping to start off easy, with a kit, but don't think I'll be that lucky. At least I want to minimize the number of iterations and wasted parts, so studying for what parts work and how to make them work together. Your build is on point for that. Sorry I can't offer any helpful advice, I'm officially lurking. Appreciate your efforts to chronicle your build.

Cheers,
Neil

Thanks Neil, it's gone thru some changes since I started it. The body has changed, the third axle linkage has changed, I think the only thing that hasn't changed is the frame rails. I'm trying to keep this updated as I go. Lurkers are welcome. If you have any questions just ask, I might not know the answer but somebody on here will.

Today was a good day. Finally made some head way on the 6X6. Got the links all sorted out, so the axles don't move in an arch anymore. Got the 4 driveshafts lengths right, just need to tweak the angle between 2nd and 3rd axle to smooth out a slight tightness during compression. Now I might finally be able to start on cutting up the body.

Don't think they're ever really finished, always got to tinker with them.

Got the 6X6 moving under power today. Just got to get the steering tweaked. Now I guess it's time for the scary part, cutting up my first hardbody.

Yeah 5000mah. Probably going to go with a smaller one, that was just for testing purposes only.

NIce clean chassis/ set up. If you want smaller 3s batterys i would go for 3s 2300mah zippys like them very much.

Thanks WR. Not sure on the battery yet still go to see how much room I'm going to have when the body is cut up.

Got started cutting the body up today. Still a lot to do but couldn't get it done until I started.
