Default Crazed SCX10 6X6

So I was playing around with some spare parts, was thinking I would see how close I could get to a running rig..

Found my original Deadbolt Chassis and started playing with some extra links..

Had some fresh SCX10 axles that I scored in an online auction, put a 4 link mount on the front...

Hmm not too shabby, could probably use these Wraith shocks if I lean them a bit...

Lets see if we can make it steer..

For a pile of parts this could be pretty cool.. (borrowed tires)

Then I started thinking.... Hmmm

Ive read before about the center axle on a 6x6, lets see if I can pull it off...

Interesting that the output spins in the opposite direction toward the rear..

Yeah this will be cool...

Roughly, I mean very roughly put the 3rd axle on...

I'm thinking flatbed to haul broken 4x4's..

I placed an order with Brazin for a Hi/Lo 6x6 chassis, it goes up to a raised flat rail in the rear, should be awesome. Stay tuned.

Nice start, I like the Tonka cab. I have the Brazin 6x6 in stainless, real nice.

Got my chassis, lets play!

Setting against the factory rails, You can see how high ? Low? they are? I guess that's why its calles hi/low chassis

A little mock up flex after swapping the rails in, still has wraith shocks on the front that wont stay, and the wheelbase is way too long..

Cab still fits..

and what it should kinda look like, I am thinking the center axle needs to be 3/4" farther forward and the rear axle 1.5" farther forward. front axle 3/8" back.

ok, got the front links swapped out, shocks changed to scx10 length, and got the cab mounted without adding any holes.

Cab is hinged, I put 8/32 bolts thru the factory rivet holes...

And it uses axial body post with magnets on top..

Sorry for the abundance of pics but I really like it...

Next is to shorten up the rear links...But until then, MORE PICS!!

My kid was riding a Tonka like that a few days ago. Those things get a lot of use.

Shortened up the wheelbase with some 8-32 rods and Axial ends, ended up with 11" WB from the front to center axle....

Next to shorten the rear..

Trying a link setup that will protect the rear driveline, and setting it so tha shocks are at the same angle on this Brazin Chassis...

Still a lot of room between the tires, this chassis my have been designed for 2.2s?

It does space out the load with a vehicle on top...
