Default Jebster's BC8 Mammoth

I've been wanting one of these for a couple years so I saved up and then emptied my rc bank account!

I didn't take pics throughout the build as HumboldtEF has a great build thread. I am doing a few things different. Obviously the color, which I'm going with CAT yellow with flat black for other exterior surfaces and a grey for the interior surfaces you can see. I'm adding a smoker to try out to go along with the kit light and sound system.

One other thing I'm trying out is attaching the cab upper body to the lower deck with a series of small screws at the joint. I didn't like the idea of gluing it together then not have easy access to everything. In the end it it does work then I can glue it.

Speaking of light and sound one of the biggest challenges of this build is wiring and wire management. I'm planning everything out the best I can but it still looks like a rats nest. I have wires and equipment everywhere. I even made the seat Velcro attached vs glue because I'm tucking a BEC and some wires under it. In the end it is all functioning as intended, although I haven't put oil in the smoker to fire it up yet.

I have more plans and will update when I can.

Thanks. It will take awhile but I'm thinking a custom trailer with lifting ramps. We'll see.

So I got everything wired up and as tidy as I could. As you can see i had to tuck a bunch under the bench seat.

That is the good news. The bad news is I'm getting some kind of glitching in the servos. I've tried a couple different ways of connecting the servos to the lighting module to reduce the problem. When I run the servos directly to the rx without the light module it is fine. Something in the light module (which gives me the turn signals) is causing interference. Not sure what to do to fix this. If any has seen this let me know if you came up with a fix.

This video shows it at its worst. This is running the servos through the power module which then connects to the light module then finally back to the rx. It is better when I don't run the servos through the power module.

Oh yeah, a could pics of the wiring work.

Thanks. I do love this rig. It is a beast!

I haven't completely eliminated the servo glitch issue but I was able to make it better. I hooked a glitch buster into the circuit which reduced the glitches quite a bit. I was thinking if I had a larger capacitor it might completely fix it. It is an annoying issue because the only way I found to get rid of it was to not have the steering channel connected to the turn signal module, which defeats having that feature on the rig.

By the, just realized I never posted finished pics. Here it is.

Another option is to replace the lighting controller, thats what I did. This also solves the blinkers coming on while moving as its completely customizable.
If you contact Lane boys RC he can help you out, info is in the video

I've had zero servo glitches.
