Picking up parts for a Tamiya Semi Truck build. When I sold “The King “ I had no clue this was the beginning of another build and friendship with another local RC fan. The King ended up going to his son, I’m building his next. More parts, Radio, KNK screws, more paint, and killer wheels. I did walk out today with a smile and no bill!! And this came home: Hang up and Drive |

All parts, radio, servos, and paint is in. Trailer is almost there, then this will start. I’ve been busy planning paint outs, lots of tape coming soon. Hang up and Drive |

The Company Color scheme is Red and Black on White, and the main body color is Pearl White, so a bit of contrast down low should make it pop. This Cascadia frame is the same as the others, updated with o ring shocks, and locknuts. Gel threadlock is supplied and needed. The KNK SS screw kit fit perfect and made assembly a breeze. Servo tester showed I reversed the steering arms, so they were swapped. Hang up and Drive Last edited by mikemcE; 09-07-2020 at 11:14 AM. |

Motor installed, transmission built and tested, install with driveshaft. The first part is done, now to hang the fuel tanks as one contains the MFC control board, and the main harness. Hang up and Drive |

Fuel tanks on, that means the electric switch block is wired in, all my leds are numbered for proper wiring and functions. Stopped at the LHS for more paint, a battery so this gets tested. And in honor of George’s Culture, Wheels that ...... Removable spikes on directional alloy wheels!! Why? Because Dayton’s look weird on semi tractors. Mounted up....... Hang up and Drive |

Mounted the rear tailpiece which holds 5leds and 2 reflectors getting closer for a wiring day, but with these rigs, some lights are frame mounted, others are cab mounted, so I need the front bumper cover painted before I can finish frame wiring. With all the wires I need to hide, I keep them separate and neat this way. So tonight’s fun was trim, wash and scuff, inspection showed no mold marks or flash, so it got mounted and sealed! I could use a 1:1 touch up gun there is so much surface to paint! Hang up and Drive |

Well planning does pay. Weather people told me rain all day, starting at noon. So up early, inspected the primer and shot some Pearl White...... about 4 cans worth in three coats, then a couple of coats of TS13 and let it dry. I assembled the fifth wheel and switch, looked at the step plates and release lever plate, they needed a black wash, did that and started the spaghetti pile of wires. Couple hours later , everything will fit, RX will go up top next to the speaker box.Had to put the body on for checking wire length, the rx has to go somewhere, and it glows. Thanks! The red is a bit overpowering but, by using blacks and chrome it balances out nicely. This kit goes together so well, as all Tamiya kits do. I’m not really close to mounting the body yet, but it keeps the juices flowing. Hang up and Drive | |

Well my refined eyes see nih , but I’m a camera junkie, who’s taking pictures for me, the client gets the truck. I’m doing a progress series with these. Here’s a better shot with proper lighting Hang up and Drive |

Meanwhile back in the swamps where the rain still hasn’t stopped, a bit of fitting, and some loose test wiring, popped a fresh battery in .... and ...... YES!!!! All functions perfectly, so I mapped out the TX to the MFC, and did a test.found the steering will need a minor trim adjustment , shift works perfectly, and truck runs smooth (up on blocks). This was a lot of fun and the whole build went quickly, only couple of minor flubs. Trailer build was also quick , until I got this cab done I hadn’t tested it, and no Taillights, flashers worked, so test showed bad wires, LHS got one pronto, and was a quick fix, due to Tamiyas engineering.
