Default Overland?

Wow! I thought my chassis was messy! That will be fun to organize and route. Seems like a lot of wires for that amount of lights.

Hey Mike,

The front shocks and shock mounts are available.

UPDATE: RC4WD followed up and I've sent $76.50 for parts to japan, time frame is "a couple of weeks"

time will tell, I will update!

Can you provide your full shipping information and phone number.

I will get a quote on these 2x shocks.

Wiring box will end up in the camper box.
So now for testing all are “just there!”

13 now, still 2 more out back

6 in each bumper , then dual turn signals and headlights in the front clip.
That’s a lot of wires!

Well list me as Stupid, issues steering were a nightmare, amazing by reversing the servo, all problem solved, so looks like the manual was correct again.

I actually have proper front shocks and mounts coming from “overseas”! RC4WD is shipping them to me. So today issues were to lay it out , make it fit, where will it fit. I drilled a 1/2 hole behind the seats, squared it off to the edge, now the receiver y leads for the lights all hide inside the body. The 1080 was stuffed into the muffler, switch mounted on the side for now.
As the light module will be inside the camper shell, all wires need to get to the rear of the transmission.
Styrene on order will make the body mounts and the floor will mount to them, the wiring can get finalized and sealed. All runs well off a 2200 3s in the front tray. So much was done, a running test also occupied me! Just enough in high gear unlocked to see its better than I thought. Lights all worked even at 6v....... may need to swap servos out for HV and set the bec to give me 7,4 which allows the lights to work brightly (dim @6v)

My thoughts to date.

First off, fun factor....high! Well detailed body.

Second thoughts, cable shift(PITA) due to cheap cables included LHS got me some steel cable in nylon sheathing from sailboat rigging to replace Plan is to rig with these as positioning is much easier without destroying the wire cable

Third thoughts, Typically RC4WD, cut enough corners to show, mostly fixable or upgrades will work.

Oddly the price point is great, shipped to my door in a Week for $400. From RPP.

Final Conclusions.....Fun ! Because this is a slow, steady, deliberate effort wit a final goal, and due to its size easy to work on

Default Overland?

Update time . The 6v servos aren’t up to my needs, couple 7.4v coming soon. Figured out how to mount the rear shocks, in the process of sourcing longer mounting screws and making two mounts. Front towers and shocks still coming thru RC4WD.did finalize all wiring and location, So I needed a fuel tank and storage box, a ladder also would work. Semi Joe’s Truck Shop hooked me up with some lesu parts, and a box coming from Hong Kong I hope!
So I started by working out a mount for the camper box. Simple frame, couple of spreaders, made a front tongue to center above the transmission so just two screws can remove it if needed.Tongue slides under cab cutout.
Boxed it in and solvent welded it together.

My body will be something that looks like these. Simple box for now , but I’ve Been known to go stupid on builds.......
13 lights aren’t excessive, are they?
Now the saddle tank and tool box make more sense, and make rear fenders

Why do this?

Totally different slow fun build for ME!
Doing everything a bit different, not a Basher /Buggy/SCT/ crawler as I’ve done for years.
I built two Semi trucks, so wanted scale, detail , but Unique. This one fits all bills as it a well detailed hardbody.
I’m not hoping that it could stay with BEA or BUD on any trail, but
fine by the campground.

I’m hoping so the fuel tank is 110mm, and fits on frame rail with solid hangers. I only need one ladder now for the entry on the driver side, as a LESU box is coming on a boat.
It looks great up close

Well after fitting the front shocks, it was time for the rear. Bent up , drilled and tapped a pair of brackets, only stock I had was brass, will swap this out for steel soon, but have to start. I wanted the shocks under the bed, no hoops. I am going to grab a piece of delrin to mount between the rails, and then the tops will center.

Made a frame rail from some flat stock, still need to drill and fasten it to the side rails, but this will work well.
