If spending that much money for a truck in the first place isnt a big deal, they're absolutely worth it. (IMO) You get a lot of value per dollar, probably more than a TRX4. If it seems like a lot of money to spend, there's not enough extra to justify spending more. (If a 10.2 kit or sport kit is more your price range) Sent from my LM-V600 using Tapatalk |

6x6’s are a hoot. They plow over/through things you wouldn’t expect because of the size, but they are very capable. I had a trx6 for a few weeks and really enjoyed it, I only got rid of it because I didn’t have enough space to store and work on it, and I was desperate to pick up a vs410 ultra. Ironically, the ultra lasted about as long as the trx6 before I sold it too. Value is definitely there in my opinion. And you might just find a good deal on a used one if you don’t mind going that route Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I felt similar before getting mine, but I’m so glad I went with the 6x6, it’s great, I’m loving it. Not trying to be an axle snob, but I look at other crawlers and they come up short. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Your here you made a post about a 6x6, you want one, you should just do it. They are so much fun, you can pull lines you never even thought about, and it's just a different drive but still crawling. I've got 2x 6x6s, love them both, drive both of them a few times a month, none are trx6s but I'll tell you trx6 is a really nice platform, if I had to buy the first one again instead of build that's what I'd go with. There's lots of parts support available too from trx4 as well, if you get bored with it, put on a different body. | |

I picked up a gently used TRX-6 on a TRX-4/6 buy/sell group on f-book recently, and now I'm seeing TRX-6's get posted every week or so. I got the 6x6 just for the cool factor, I think they look awesome and they look very cool with all 3 axles flexing over terrain, that extra axle adds so much capability. You can get good deals on used ones, for $575+$35 for shipping it came with a hobbywing axe r2 esc and 2100kv motor, spare set of wheels, traxxas pro lighting module, traxxas link bluetooth module, reefs 442 HD steering servo, truck bed kit, etc. Like $500+ of upgrades and I paid less than retail for the used truck with everything installed. Converting a TRX-4 into a TRX-6 doesn't really require much doing, honestly. I put off a 6x6 for a long time because I didn't want to pay the premium for the Mercedes body (which I didn't want) and all of the RTR electronics (which I neither need nor want.) Through a combination of Jenny's, Amain, and eBay I only spent about $200, because I got matching tires, shocks, etc, and went with my own choice of body. Of course, had I not had a TRX-4 already (or three, whatever) I might have gone for the RTR. Absolutely worth it, IMO. Such a fun rig, and it climbs like a centipede. ![]() |
