Hey RCC, I’m a little late to this party but here we are. This beast showed up today, first impressions are it resembles the 10.2 chassis. It’s a pretty decent size rig and isn’t terribly heavy.. that is before I add the 11oz of RC Issues Inc brass links. Also adding Soze’s chassis brace, big thanks to him for printing that out for me. I’m also gathering the parts for the big boy transmission to divorce the rear axles. Other than that, I’ll be swapping electronics after it’s maiden voyage tomorrow and driving the wheels off this thing! I’ll post up tomorrow after our run. Awesome! I know this rig sort of got a bad rap, because of some issues out of the box.... but when you address them, this thing becomes a beast! Definitely a lot of fun to wheel.

Are you going to snag the gspeed rails for it or what? I looked at these pretty seriously when they were on sale for $350

Man I had a blast with this thing today! It’s a limo for sure but it kept up with my buddy’s 9lb trx4. So I didn’t get to run it “box stock” like I wanted. Went to the northwest hobbies indoor facility. It’s nice to run for a little and be out of the weather, but the $10 price tag and having to wear a mask is wearing on me. They didn’t have the correct adapter I needed to run my batteries so I just ran my 10.3 there before heading to Lebanon damn. In the parking lot I did a quick surgery and swapped the stock motor/esc for the micro x and 2850kv slate in my bag. I should have swapped the steering servo.. but miraculously it survived the couple hours of run time. This thing is a blast, looks great wheeling and I’m glad to report no popping noise or spitting out the center axle. I’ll still be divorcing the rear axles for the sake of saving gears. The stock tires leave a lot of room for improvement but they weren’t horrible. I’m installing the RC Issues brass links now, mounting the shock on the link mount and I’ll be installing the Soze chassis brace tomorrow. Next upgrades are GRC wheels and likely G8 Krawlers along with the trans setup. That and shocks eventually, after a few hours of run time, I’ve got 3 shocks leaking pretty good. One on each axle Twade, I do plan on buying the gspeed chassis.. hopefully while it’s still on sale.. but I’ll probably wait a little to build it. It was a blast, can’t wait to make a few changes and go again. Yea! That they are.. I live 2 min from the Willamette and it’s way up there. It was pretty flooded at the dam but we still had a good time. I know Elk Rock island is under water right now, no doubt about it. While I’m here, I got the links mounted up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Want to thank Soze again for printing this chassis brace and transmission parts. The brace makes a huge difference. Still some flex up front, I have some plans for that further down the road. Ordering up some of the last pieces for the trans so I can perform the axle divorce, and I picked up an upper link riser for the middle axle because the links contact each other. Looking forward to getting this thing back out on the rocks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I got the hobbywing 2300kv axe setup swapped in, also installed the Savox 1210sg paired up to a 6100at and bound to my dx5c. Slowed the steering down and got all the epa’s set. The esc could use some tuning but I’ll do that next time I get it out. Pretty happy with the install Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Got to take this thing out again yesterday, what a blast! It impressed me over and over again. The brass links made a huge difference, and the hobbywing setup ran great. I feel like it could use just a little more width but I can worry about that later. The gspeed chassis is going to be happening sooner than later, I’m looking forward to that build and can’t wait to document it. Here’s some pics from lucia falls Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks good - 6x6'ing is fun! You have a fantastic wheeling spot BTW, the scenery is spectacular.

Thanks OS, I drive over an hour to get to that spot, but it’s definitely worth it. We spent probably 3 hours there, and I didn’t kill 2 1550mah 3s lipos between the 6x6 and my 10.3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well big things are coming... gspeed chassis and all the goodies. You may notice the lay down servo mount isn’t listed. I’ll be swapping to servo on axle for hopefully some performance gains. I hope the chassis ships sooner than later, I ordered it 20 min ago and I’m already antsy ha! I’ll also be doing the big boy transmission swap at the same time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Fricker08’s 6x6 Umg I found a f**ebook group that’s all about the UMG10 and 6x6. Though I don’t have social media I’m able to see some stuff. Well this guy designed a transmission case to add a second output gear and divorce the rear axles. I’ve got the 3D printed parts just need the hard parts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yea, it was definitely designed for the stock chassis setup. So I hope it works with the gspeed chassis. On that note, I got a shipping confirmation today! Man am I excited. Just ordered brass steering links and another upper link. Just need the soa mount and I should be good. *edit here’s the link for the transmission case. Read his notes, big_boy.3 should be everything you need unless you go to a standard rotation rear axle. Though I think that prints all the pieces you need, but you’ll need another set of gears. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4592292 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Fricker08; 02-04-2021 at 06:18 PM.
