Allen passed away on August 15th, 2008 at the age of 31 while visiting family in Texas. He suffered a stroke due to difficulties with high blood pressure. Allen left behind a young wife and minor children. He worked in the area as a Journeyman Painter for many years and resided mainly in Davenport, Iowa. He was self-employed and hadn’t been able to maintain insurance for himself and his family. At the time of his death he had neither health nor life insurance. This is my cousin who died at the age of 31. In order to do some fund raising, I am planning a charity build for my cousin's family. I am asking if any of you have some extra parts lying around that you would like to donate to the cause.

I have a 2 channel radio and receiver that I will be providing. I also may have an ESC and a motor already. Gerame has offered to donate a complete chassis and links as well as the body. He is also providing the beadlock wheels.

Right now we need:

- Axial transmission
- Tires
- Steering servo
- ESC (if mine doesn't work out)
- Shocks
- Axles
- Anything else that I'm forgetting

- Cash always works too, even if it's just a dollar or two.

Let's see what we can come up with guys.

When this build is completed the truck will be auctioned off. 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Hungate Family Trust to help my cousin's family.

Thanks a lot for anything that you can help with it is truly appreciated.

Thanks a lot! That's awesome!

I have a nimh charger, lipo charger, lipo batteries, tires, shocks, wheels, servo, I have an esc if yours don't work, I'll keep looking.

What about batteries? Paint job? Motor?

kwkride 09-05-2008 01:26 PM

Thank you so much! This is awesome!
I've got the motor and the battery covered.

JavelinSST390 09-05-2008 04:55 PM

I've got paint and an airbrush. "thumbsup" I just need to get the shell into my hands and at my house so I can do the deed.

A paint job for me can take several hours or several days.... Just depends on how it goes, how complicated it is and how much free time I have.

I've got a set of barley used stock Axial tires & foams.

I'll bring them down to Hobby town on Sunday, if that will work out?

Or let me know where I can deliver them to!

kwkride 09-05-2008 09:31 PM

You guys are truly awesome! I really mean that!

I will be teaching a motorcycle class Sunday, but my wife said that she could come by the GTG at Hobby Town on Sunday to pick up parts if people want to drop them off there. . . . . . That is at noon right?

If you look through the posts, there are a couple of duplicate parts already. If you guys don't mind, I was thinking that I would take any donations that you want to give. Then whatever is not needed for the build I would auction off separately and throw that money into the pot too.

Would this be OK?

Sounds good to me!

Biker713 09-06-2008 09:22 AM

Jim,

Sounds like a great idea.

I've got a set of stock Ax10 tires & foams, another set of foams & a set of stock ax10 beadlock rims i'll bring with me tomorrow.

I'll be at hobbytown around noon.

Kevin

Thanks again guys!

For anybody who is donating parts and is going to the GTG tomorrow;
My wife will be at HobbyTown around noon driving a blue Jeep Liberty with a MN Vikings tire cover.

My wife brought home a nice collection of parts today. Thanks again guys! This is really appreciated!

By the way, that spring the Teresa found is off of my Liberty. I lost it last week.

Just to give you guys an update, the response has been fantastic! The only thing that are missing right now are axles. Gerame says that we should use AX-10 axles to do this "right". I PMed Alex at HT and asked if he could give me discount and pair of axles for this build. He wants me to come out to the 'Plex on Thursday and work something out.

Chris (JavelinSST390) has offered to paint the bodies. (There are 2 that have been donated now) "thumbsup" I just need to work a plan to meet up with him and get him the bodies.

Thanks a lot for all the help guys! This is appreciated more than you know!

sparky0068 09-09-2008 08:16 AM

I'll even offer my time to help build this truck."thumbsup"

Thanks for the offer Jesse, I may need some help with my schedule . . .

I have found one more part that I could use if someone has an extra. A 27mhz AM receiver. Someone donated a new transmitter from a Slash that he never used, but he hasn't been able to find the receiver yet.

Thanks again!

kwkride 09-11-2008 11:59 AM

OK guys, I have the axles in my hand now. I'll assemble them tonight. This plan seems to be coming together. Now we just need to get the parts together. "thumbsup"

I'll keep everyone posted of the progress.

kwkride 09-12-2008 07:35 AM

I assembled the axles last night. Now this morning I have the receiver in my hand. We can cross that one off the list. "thumbsup"

Thanks again,
