Default 2010 Summer Series Kickoff! *Date Change*

NSCA Summer Series Comp #1
HobbyTown HobbyPLEX
10020 Scott Circle Omaha, NE 68122-3053
Irvington Exit off of I-680
Sunday March 28th at 12:30pm

It is time to kick off our 2010 Summer Series.
This one will be at the HobbyTown HobbyPLEX.
This is at the Irvington Exit off of I-680.

Remember that during our Summer Series events, dues paying club members comp for FREE.
Non-members will pay $5 to compete. Club dues for the calendar year are only $20 per family!

For the Summer Series there will be a total of 10 comps.
Each competitor will have their two worst finishes dropped when calculating the scores at the end of the season, this will allow people to still be competitive in the championship if they need to miss a comp or have an "off" day.

We will have a copy of the 2010 Rules with us and be following them closely.
Do we make one change for our local comps though. We allow 60 penalty points per course instead of 40.
You can download your own copy here (http://www.usrcca.com/rules/2010_USRCCA_Rules.pdf)

Here is how we are computing the points for this series:

1st 60pts
2nd 55
3rd 52
4th 49
5th 46
6th 43
7th 40
8th 38
9th 36
10th 34
11th 32
12th 30
13th 28
14th 26
15th and below 25pts

We have decided to change to this scoring system because we believe that it will give a more fair spread of points over the summer. It will provide good points for the leaders of the comp, but will also put more emphasis on participation. We have been told that as an officially recognized club, our series winner should be determined by participation as well as excellence.

Let's get ready to rock!

I am thinking of making this one, although I am assuming it will be inside from the looms of the forecast. Problem with inside is it will take longer and I need to be in KC by 7 Saturday night for the UFC fights

I'll be out for the next one because it's the same date as ECC.

Going to make as many as I can this year, I enjoy the comps up there.

Up to 70% on Saturday but Sunday looks clear as a bell and 55 degrees for the temp...

Default Check your email!

Check your emails guys!

We've all been looking forward getting this Summer Series started and crawling outside on the rocks.
Well looking at the weather forecast for Saturday, if we maintain our schedule we will be crawling inside again.
We could still do this, but Tim said that they are having their Winter Series finale which is a double points event to finish off their Winter Carpet Series.
He said that he is expecting a large turnout and that pit space will be at a premium.

With this information, I would like to consider moving the comp to Sunday.
The weather is supposed to be nice and we could be outside on the rocks.
___

I realize that this is late notice for rescheduling, but with this information
I would like to propose that we move the comp to Sunday with a 12:30 start time.

If anyone has any objections to this idea, please let Gerame or I know ASAP.

Thanks,

Me too! I just hope my severe allergy headache is gone by then.

And to think it was caused by getting a slight whiff of the dishwasher soap I bought yesterday. All I did was take the box of soap out of the shopping bag to put it away, and WHAM! Instant headache from the smell of the box.
