| Newb here!
Finally got into scalers/crawlers. I have an SCX10 and will slowly start upgrading the links and such. The guy that owned it before me had it completely waterproofed. Is the plex course open all the time or do I need to be a member to use it? I don't have much crawling down in base housing!! I guess I will have to come out to the comps and just spectate and maybe learn a few things. It's fun to wheel one of these, I grew up wheeling 1:1s so picking a line is pretty easy! I can see this hobby getting expensive pretty quickly too !

Welcome to the hobby! It is a lot of fun. Like Dewey mentioned, there is crawling up at the HobbyPLEX on Tuesday evenings. They are located at 10020 Scott Circle in Omaha. If you go up there just to practice on the indoor course it is $3. If you are crawling outside it is free! Our club's next comp is on the 18th at 11am at the HobbyPLEX. I hope you can make it out! |

I won't be able to make the next comp, I will be home on leave! Is there any good parks around here with some good crawling? I know it's getting cold but that don't bother me much! I know I need to pick up some more batteries so I can run longer than 30 minutes or so. One day I will get some lipos.

Welcome to the wonderful world of scale crawlering. A good park is at 132nd and Pacific, we hold comps there in the spring and summer, it is a side hill so top heavy rigs are a challenge. Also for more scale you can go to Elmwood park in midtown. Other than there, just keep your rig with you with a full battery and keep your eyes open, you may spot something you want to try. Like around the bridges over the creek in bellevue or omaha. Enjoy and hope to see you out at some comps this winter, check the NSCA site for all the dates.
