Comp #6 - July 9th Sioux Falls/Fall Park

http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/g...falls_park.jpg

Where:

Falls Park
309 East Falls Park Drive
Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Time:

11 am - 12 p.m. start and finish goal by 5 p.m.

Notes:

This comp has been approved for continuance by our V.P. Ken & Jim so NSCA Members please post up if you can still make this event. We would like to invite all ND, SD, IA, MO, and KS crawlers to attend this out-of-town event but we will need to be efficient with our time.

With this being out of town competition I suggest a free crawl format with up to 1-3 courses set up for 2.2 and possibly 1-3 for 1.9 so that people can start when they arrive (Pending on amount of course markers available). We would the late arrival competitors to start by 1 p.m. in order to finish by 5 p.m. deadline goal.

If we can't get enough participants for this comp it may be rescheduled or moved to another location due to it's distance from NSCA club base. I have gotten permission from the Falls Park & Game/Parks to hold this event here, G/P # 605.367.8222.

Lodging:

There is Hot Harley Nights motorcycle rally going on that weekend so check for rooms asap if you are interested.

Holiday Inn Centre - Rich & Joe are staying here
Ramada Inn - By airport, does have indoor water park
Country Inn - booked completely as of last week, but you may call to verify.

Thanks Rich for all your work on this.
Heather and I will be there for this. We should be there by noon.

I have a set of markers available. Let me know if you want them for use and I'll drop them off at the Plex this week.

I'm still a Maybe for the comp.
I'd like to go, but things are a little crazy at work right now.

Just a quick idea for the points series aspect. Since it is quite a way to travel for a number of the members, perhaps we could add a 3rd drop to the series. This comp may help some people with their point totals, but it also won't penalize anyone.

Ben

In my opinion, our officers voted to only have 2 drops so for this year it wouldn't change. If you look at Dewy & Chad side, if they as paying members couldn't come to Omaha should we drop more scores? This is a comp that is in there area which is in the guidelines and is the right thing to do in supporting there commitment in driving to Lincoln & Omaha. Plus we can choose to remember that this comp was up for vote and passed with no opposition. Just my thoughts, this is up to Ken & James as officers.

i agree"thumbsup"

Wow, we've got some travelers to compete with, awesome. Here's what I see so far on the list.

Dewey? - deweycj5
Rich - no2hud
Chad - psychomonkey
Heather - Mrs. psychomonkey
Ty - tctz28
Joe - sprint 28
Ben? - benchchemist
Chris? - kratos
Alex? - froboy
ghtpdm5 - team minnesota
tqcookie - w/ teammate from Fargo, ND
whillinwillys - from Spearfish, SD wow 6 hr drive "thumbsup"
CmdrZod? - w/ possibly 2 from MNRCRC

That's 10 w/commitment and 5 in question.

Come on NSCA members, carpool to save expenses plus cut your drive-time contribution, Dewey & Chad do it every comp. You can even go check out all of the Harley's in town afterwords, bonus.

It's anywhere from 6.5-7 hrs round trip from Omaha so if we get Jim, Ken, James, and Ben to carpool that's approx $16.83 per person in fuel and 1.75 hrs drive time per person. Check with Alex for possible carpool savings!

CmdrZod 06-28-2011 09:49 AM

I think I will be a Definite----- Maybe :ror:
And I might be bringing a couple of the other guys from the MNRCRC. "thumbsup"
We are between series (Spring - Fall) so some of us are looking for something else to do between the series.

froboy 06-28-2011 10:01 AM

I am in. I just got the day off.

ghtpdm5 06-28-2011 11:58 AM

I don't have a problem with the decision either way. I'm just posting up ideas. "thumbsup"
I had concerns with conflicts with offroad summer series dates earlier in the year and the club maintained the schedule. With the new building going up at the Plex, it ended up not being any conflicts.8)

I'll have a better idea next week if I can make it to the comp or not.

major94 06-28-2011 10:41 PM

Not gonna make it. There are too many things going on here in town that I feel I need to hang around for,

Thanks for the work on this one Rich.

No, we will not add a 3rd drop. Its not fair.

Thinking of having a GTG for all of the lackies that stay in the omaha area. I think I want to try that place in 14th and capital. If you are interested send me a pm, I dont want to thread highjack.

Have fun all that are going.

Chad, do you have all of the score keeping stuff and clipboards? And if you send your scores home with Alex or Rich, I will post them up when I get them. I dont want to make you do the spreadsheet...its a pain.

no2hud 06-30-2011 07:28 AM

Jim, Ken, James, Ben.......Hope you decide to come to our comp next Saturday, you could possibly carpool with Alex to the event. Why not come if your still are planning to crawl here locally, what more could you ask for bonding with your buddies. Come on, just do it."thumbsup"

Things will always be crazy at work, you'll always think your so busy, your wife will always want you home, it's too expensive (but not if you carpool).

froboy 06-30-2011 12:48 PM

I would actually like somebody or somebodies to drive with me...

Kratos 06-30-2011 02:05 PM

if im not working by then alex ill get ya and we can ride together. most likely have room for 1 or 2 more too. depending on how much stuff you guys bring with ya

ski 06-30-2011 07:13 PM

Wont be at this one, it's our 6 yr anniversary.
