NSCA 01/14/12 meeting notes

Here is a look at the notes Rich took at the meeting we had after comping Saturday (he not only smells great but he takes great notes too;-))! I know he forwarded them to a few of the club members but in case we didn't have your info here you go::mrgreen:

1. Club member positions
a. Marshals (panel of 3 members) - Chris, Chad, Ty
b. Treasure - Rich
c. Secretary - Heather
d. Trail Boss - Joe P., Matt

2. Club Dues - It was voted that for the time being we will not collect dues since we have a surplus going into 2012 of $457. If there is any need of cash for cub needs we will take an offering from all active members.

3. Club cash surplus - As voted in 2011, we will use a portion of the club dues to create up to three new panels for the indoor course. We voted a budget of up to $400 to be used on this project. We will hold the remaining $57 for any future club needs.

4. 2012 Comp Schedule - It was voted to keep the current posted schedule until our Marshals determine what our requirements are to maintain status on a national level. Chris, Chad, and Ty will investigate and report to the club of any changes.

5. Club Sponsored Event - We voted to eliminate the 'Central States Challenge' and create a new free event in Sioux Falls. It was chosen as the 'All State Challenge' with possibly holding a two day event and running all classes (2.2, 1.9, and Super). This will be advertised over RCCRAWLER boards as a free open invite. Our club will be the host and organize but open up opportunity for others to assist in judging, we'd also run on possibly a free crawl format.

6. Comp Start Position - After using the chip method for the past two events, it was decided we'd continue with the chips since we have been more organized. Chad suggested that we use the following method for a three course position order.
1. Draw Number - go in sequential order from lowest to highest.
2. Flip Order - reverse the position order from highest to lowest.
3. Mix Order - Positions will be divided numerically then divided, example positions 5-10 run first then 1-4 competitors will finish.

We can test this position order at our next comp to see if things run as smoothly as it has been the last two comps.

7. Comp sites - We have listed our set comp sites as listed below with the possibility of one new site.
1. Lincoln Area -
2. Omaha Area - Hobby Plex, Trendwood, Cunningham Lake
3. Bellevue - Potential new area in Swanson Park, Matt will investigate the new site to verify we can crawl there.

8. Club Travel Event - Chad brought up the possibility of taking a club road trip to Disney and tie in with the KC bunch along with others. We could enjoy camping, comping, and event a little 1:1 trail ride. Sounds fun!

9. Indoor Comp Area - It was discussed that we need to create a barrier or signs stating "KEEP OFF CRAWLING AREA" to protect our investment and safety of children.

10. Need for Fun - We need to emphasize that this is supposed to be fun and we need to maintain a proper code of conduct. Please refrain from being over competitive and getting angered. If anyone has a complaint about a course, please bring it up before hand so we can prove the complaint appropriate. HAVE FUN!

All active club members:

Please PM me with your contact information so I can send information directly to you!

I look forward to seeing all at our next comp. Feb 4th!

Thanks-Heather
