Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

After yesterday's shafty-only comp at the 'plex, Alex told me there are a LOT of guys around Omaha who have been buying Wraiths and SCX10's. And I KNOW there's at least a FEW guys around here who have some killer scalers.

SO would anyone be interested if someone got together a scale TTC-type event? Sled pull, Mud bog, Tank Trap, Hillclimb, etc.?

If I ever had time or money to finish my scaler I would. But think I am just gonna sell everything.

I'm pretty new to all of this rc stuff. I just got a scx-10 a month ago that I'm fixing up. But would be interested in something like this.

Another Fremont guy? Sweet! I live in Colon, out by Wahoo. There's another member who lives in Fremont with a Wraith. Maybe we all oughta have a little sale crawl. Anybody know any good spots (fremont lakes/platte river maybe?)

Sounds good to me. It might light a fire under me to get a project done.

Yeah you need to get one done. Hopefully you can leave my place with it in one piece. Brian is on his way out to give his a try.

Re: Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

I saw a post somewhere on RCC or RCtech about a multi-discipline scale event that included a crawl, a sled pull, a speed trial, and a couple others but I cannot find it now. Something like that may draw some people out.

Id come if my schedule allows. 1.9 or 2.2 or both. I think it would be fun. Ive been doing alot of scaling with my boy in the bluffs so this would be a blast

Re: Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

I have been thinking about this TTC deal. I saw on Youtube today some group using one of those huge Tonka trucks. Then I looked to my left and saw the one I bought for my kid for xmas a few years ago. If you load the bed with weight and pull it on a slight incline or better yet start on level ground and finish on an incline.

RC ADVENTURES - SCALE RC TRUCKS #14 - EVENT #5 TRUCK PULL TTC 2009 - YouTube

That might work, eh?

gandergrinder 12-12-2012 08:41 PM

Yeah looks like a tonka truck would work pretty good.

Re: Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

thats a great idea "thumbsup"

so i am thinking 2 class of trucks the 1.9 RTC class and the 2.2 TTC class

the 1.9 Real Truck Challenge class

any scale 1.9 tire , any scale truck body , must have scx10 frame or equivalent , 12.5 wb or shorter and limited to 2s only

the 2.2 Top Truck Challenge class

any scale 2.2 tire , body unlimited , chassis unlimited , wb not to exceed 14.5 and limited to 3s and lower

post up what you think on the rules , i think 2 classes would be a good thing

Re: Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

I definitely think 2 classes is enough and covers 99% of people who would run an event like this.

I'm looking at combining several different rule sets. I'll condense them and pm it to you in the next couple days.

Re: Anybody interested in a Scale TTC Challenge?

2 classes are good for me to except the 2s thing for the 1.9, i think we shouldnt limit the battery in case somebody already bought 3s(like me lol). I have several 2s packs though if were gonna stick with it. When we doing this? I know there are two places that i trail with my dad and son, lewis and clark park in cb and fairmount park in cb. Any other locations that we can hit up
