Rock Crawling at Moon Rocks

Went out to Moon Rocks Thurs. to punish my RC crawler a bit. I love that place. I just wish the a-holes wouldn't throw beer bottles all over and try to tear down the trees.

Philistine, nice pics. that looks like a nice place to go crawling"thumbsup" I keep hearing about this place (moonrocks). I just need to stop working sooo much and find out how to get there.

It's very easy to get there (just a few miles outside of Pyramid Lake).

If you are coming from Fallon take highway 80 north, exit Pyarmid highway in Sparks and turn right. Drive 15 miles and exit at Winnemucca Ranch Road (there is a sign): http://maps.google.com/maps?rls=en&q...=1&sa=N&tab=wl Just drive straight until you hit the dirt road and continue for another mile or two. You will see Moon Rocks on your left at a sign welcoming you to the Happy Valley OHV area: http://maps.google.com/maps?rls=en&q...=1&sa=N&tab=wl

The area is eaisly accesable by passenger car. This is probably the best spot for RC crawling anywhere around Reno. Its big with lots of steep climbs and a variety of obsticles. Tons of fun. I go out there 2-3 times a month.

This is great, I have the 27th through the 30th off, all i have to do is stop by CKRC for an extra battery pack and i'm on my way:lol:.

I'm sure you could, its not like NH lacks potential: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_M...New_Hampshire)

Yes, I usually go there a couple times a month. Sun Valley RP is really close to Whip It Raceway and Hobby in Panther Valley where I hang out a lot. Otherwise, my favorite place in Reno is Wingfield Park, an island in the middle of the Truckee River downtown.
