2012 Desert Dakar Series, LVSC

Starting a new series that is nothing like our scale rock crawling series. It is more of a Dakar style race. The object is simple, it will be a point A to point B race that WILL be timed..! There will be some obstacles along the way. There will be a cc01 class and axial/trailfinder/boyer class. These will both be open classes (so you can run your rock crawler exactly how it is if you feel it can run all out for longer periods of time). Crashes leaving your vehicle on its top, side, or high centered (or anything else leaving your vehicle unable to move) and all crashes count so if you are bumped or hit by another driver rules still apply. Penalties are as follows 2 minutes for hand of god. Winching no penalty, sand boards no penalty (your vehicle must carry the sand boards). Repairs done on the clock, touching vehicle for spare tire, winch cable, sand boards, replace batteries will have no penalty. Spare tire, sand boards, and lights recommended but not required. The trucks will be launched in stages, more than one driver on course at a time. Expect everything terrain offers, if you do not want to cross water, mud, sand driver may choose alternate routes still racing the clock. Single flags along the way will assure you you're headed in the right direction, you can cut your own path if you wish. Fastest time in each class wins..! "thumbsup"

Just wanna let you know, Iv already started a Super secret build for this series. I hope you all can keep up, Also as it sits now Im going to guess that it will run the CC class but we will see how it performs. I mean the chassis is only an inch off the ground on 2.2/3 wheels.

There is a lot of interest in this series, more than I anticipated. I would say we are just going to have to group the same type vehicles together. 4wd, 1/10 body, electric, scale type vehicles are guidlines right now. I just know a slash or stadium truck will smoke a cco1, axial, or crawler based truck so will not be in same class. For the most part I figured guys would run 35, 27 turn , brushless or what they want in trailfinder, scx10, ax10, or crawler based rig and some already have cc01's. But we can just run with what ever people bring with exception of nitro's. The thing about Dakar is its not like a baja where its a beaten down path you run wide open. There will be obstacles to slow you down..! I guess if someone wants to chance an open diff slash or something we could see how it works. This series is to combine speed, equipment, and technical driver skill. Winches, straps, sand boards, lights are not typical of a stadium truck. But making a staduim style truck do all this is part of the fun.

Some long sections of speed, hard on the brakes for technical, open it up, navigate trail, and contend with what ever surface is beneath you. Be prepared is best, and come equipped..!

hmm its not like I can keep up with a 60mph Ofna 4x4. Gonna have to start running again just to keep up with wut ever i bring. Ax10 is alot easier to stay with than my Ofna.
