| recon G6 help...
So i'm going to do the recon G6 devils crossing here in Vegas on the 4th. This will be my first recon so i'm not quite sure what to expect... can anyone tell me what an average G6 is like from past experience? Also, tips and tricks would be helpful. Thanks!!! |

Always best to get there a little early so you can talk with people and do any last minute work on your rig.First is regestration, where you go and get put into what ever class your doing and pay your fee. Shortly there after Parker will call a drivers meeting and go over the plan for the day and explain the rules and any special things to look out for. There only a couple rules but the last and most important one is to HAVE FUN The G crew will start lining rigs up with ultra drivers in front and everyone else behind. Usually the Ultra drivers start a couple minutes ahead of the Adventure drivers. While your out on the course, everyone is your friend and can help you out. Once you finish, turn in your Logbook to G central but don't leave until after the awards ceremony (hint hint) Other hints i can give Carry lots of battery power- courses can be anywhere from 100 to over 300 gates Carry some common tools with you. On course repairs are OK Water...sometimes there is water on the course so be prepared and finally the G6 intel post will tell you specifically what you need to bring (The last G6 was an acorn, for example)

Is there a place where you can charge your battery, or do you have to charge them at home?

If you need to charge in the field, its best to use an AC/DC charger and hook it up to your car battery

since its a day and nite stage you should have time between the 2 to charge your batt from your 1:1 ride. like gotto said some basic tools and some spare stuff in a pack that you keep with you during the event. did my 1st g6 in cali the trifolium event and was a pretty laid back thing, some people in a rush and others kindof cranky when you pass them. but anyways prettymuch go at your own pace. run with a group or do your own thing. that 1 had sand, grass, water, rock and even some mud so you can expect anything depending where we are at in vegas. go through the list and try to have everything thats recommended.
