Suggestions for Calico

Hey there fellow mini crawler guys and gals. Josh here and new to the area. Ok, I have been to Vegas to wheel a time or two in the Jeep and with the XR10, but a recent transplant.

So I am thinking I might have a chance to head out to Calico Sunday with my 1/6 Willys and wondering what you guys would do, upper or lower Calico. What does each have to offer? Is it legal to be lazy and drive the Jeep up to the scale crawl spots? I ask because I see what appear to be double track trails going up a wash on the lower end and a road going up a ways on the upper.

i like lower calico which also connects to red springs crawling area if you head eastward. I go to calico basin just about every Thursday at 5pm til dark. another reason why I like calico is because you can sometimes see wild donkeys, a coyote, rabbits, hummingbirds, bats, hawks, ground squirrels.
