BLACK ROCKS is in DERBYSHIRE near to a well known motorcycling meeting place called MATLOCK BATH, I would say it would take you @ 2.5 hours to drive there James.

That looks like a cool plate to crawl. Nice!!
Who's crawler with the mgt chassis? Is it on the forum.

steanlol 01-22-2007 11:53 AM

That must be mine then , i've not posted any pic's of it as its not what i would of thought worthy of a feature , i also have a rock bull clod as well which there will be some pics of next week after our meet at melton .

It' would be a 2 hour trip for me, but that sure looks like it would be worth it.
Planning another trip there in the future? :D

We are hoping to organise a get-to-gether and lay some sections out when the weather is warmer, Its only down the road from me (15mins) so I will go there as often as I can. I don.t think you would be dissapointed if you came up!"thumbsup" Are you coming to melton this saturday? Regards JOHN.

MadMax 01-22-2007 03:04 PM

Now that looks a 100% better than the Buxton place.
It's a deffo when it get's a bit warmer it'll give my stick and Rockbuster a good shake down lol.

Steve.

yup looks great, whats it like for the more scale type crawlers, I only have my 3 speed, a 6x6 and an xc?

4link4eva 01-23-2007 09:11 AM

I don't think I'll be at the Melton meet, but I reckon it'd be worth taking a trip to Black Rocks at some point.

Id say its just as good for scalers as it is for clod size , all routes have got a challenging bit in them but there's still loads of places we've not been or looked at yet .

That looks a good spot you've found.

What is access like? It's not a 10 mile yomp from any parking is it?

Could well be persuaded to pop down.

Off onto local.live.com to have a look of the area.

There are car parks at the bottom of a hill so that is not a problem, there is a short walk (uphill) to the top. Look for cromford on the A6 to Matlock Bath it is very close to the cross roads at cromford. It is a good site ,there are other areas we have not tried yet! Regards JOHN."thumbsup"
