you will have alot more fun with the scaler anyway. the comp rig is a good time, i enjoy them. but the scaler is the true fun, where you can actually play and pretend.

Were you with us on Sunday? I was the guy with the red F-350 that had more permanent escorts than the President. From a scale perspective, they are 100%, and I'm even thinking about ordering another hilux myself... But if you want to do an excursion like the one we had this weekend, expect to dump in more money... if you are even willing to lose things like the leafs and tire size etc, which lose the "scale". If you were there with us, I had a rough day basically from the beginning. Those photos pics DJ linked you to were of my rig after I got home. That being said, there are many ney-sayers, (me being the biggest one on Sunday) but to make it even in the same class as the SCX10s, you will need lots of mods, which is what I will proly do with mine too. (ditch the leafs and add larger tires). I think its well worth it, b/c I have beat the shit out of mine for 4 years now and I have yet to replace a part... (less superglue on my bumper from Sunday... ) |

You're going to need to run taller 1.9's or 2.2's to make up for the lack of flex in the suspension. More weight in the tires helps with flex as well. My 1.9's aren't weighted but my 2.2's are and it flexes better with the 2.2's. I actually like running leafs on my scale FJ. It's more of a challenge to keep it on it's tires for sure (shut up Aaron.....). I didn't put many leafs in the spring packs. I just used the main leaf and one or two more to try to fight spring wrap. I also bought some small chain repair links from Lowes and used them as shooter shackles. I didn't use the internal springs in the shocks and honestly, I think they are what is limiting my suspension travel. Might try it with some TLT shocks instead just so see if it helps. Also been thinking of trying out the RC4WD soft red leaf springs.

Well I wasn't there on the third that is one of the reasons I ordered a scaler and well it was about time to have just a little more fun and well I just needed something other than my comp rig and well the hilux is the most scale I could find especially cause my 1.1 is a first gen 4 runner so a little money spent is worth it
