To everyone;

I want to have a club meeting to discuss comp dates, dues and everything related to our rock crawling season for 2012.

I Would like to meet at the Village Inn on Mesa close to UTEP @ 10am on Sunday the 8th of January after the meeting we can drive over to UTEP and have one last practice before the season start.

Please post if anyone can't make it or has an inconvenience with the date, location or time.

Let me see if we can make it. Just got my comp rig rebuilt and ready for the season. definitely planning on being more involved and more competitive this year.

First Thanks for everyone who attended the meeting here are the meeting minutes and the outcome.

Ok guys we will be running comp rigs and scalers at the same date.

1) Bobby Moon will be taking care of the scoring for the scalers we will run 1.9 and 2.2 together Bobby will have full details at first crawl session.
2) I will run the scoring and overseeing the comp rigs all rules will apply and we will be running shafty and MOA's together at least this year.
3) No club dues, comp fees will be $ 2.00 per rig per person. The fees will help pay for chalk, gate markers and other items as well as trophies at the end.

Comp Dates are as follow:
January 22, 2012 transmountain Tom Mays park test and tune with judging.

1st Official Comp
February 5, 2012 UTEP @ 10am.
February 19, 2012 Vado @ 10am.
March 4, 2012 Las Cruces Little Moab @ 10am.
March 18, 2012 Transmountain Tom Mays Park @ 10am.
April 1, 2012 UTEP @ 10am. Comp and G6
April 15, 2012 Transmountain Scenic Area @ 10am.
April 29, 2012 Las Cruces Little MOAB by the waterfall area will meet at I-10 and transmountain @ 8AM
May 13, 2012 Transmountain Tom Mays Park @ 9am
May 27, 2012 UTEP @ 9am
Must attend at least 6 comps to qualify for state.

Had a lot of fun yesterday it was a nice chance to get some testing and tuning done plus we got to find out where our rigs stood can't wait to get the comp season started.

Where do you guys meet up at UTEP? I would be interested in coming out to watch. I have an XR10 that is running, but it's got a stripped gear in the front axle so I doubt I'll bring it out. I just want to get a feel for how things work before I do a comp.

We meet up in the back parking lot behind the Don Haskins center and next to the police station. We park facing the mountain. Ill be in a 4door gmc with black rims. We will all be out there and you shouldnt miss us. If you need PM me and i can give you my number and i can meet up with you and you can follow me out there.

BTW i was just looking at some of the state talk and they might be moving state finales to later in the month depending on when the Nats are in Prescot.

I spoke with Ryan Winkleman and the NARCCA Summer Shootout Comp in Prescot is going to be held either the 2nd or the 9th of June. The date has not been set, but it is always the 1st or 2nd week. The majority of us all attend this comp. With the date that has been set for States, it may conflict with the Summer Shootout comp.

I propose we move States to the 16th of June that way there is no conflict with a National Level Event the majority all attend.

I have a feeling if there was a conflict, most of us would choose Arizona over States.

If some of you dont know they are trying to change the dates for state again for what seems like personal reasons. I voiced my opinion on there an i encourage everyone else to do the same.

From the looks of things the dates keep getting changed because of personal reasons. I am in no way saying that state comes before family but a date and place needs to get locked. For those of us in El Paso/las Cruses we need to be able to get off work and plan for motels and such. The 1st should automatically be thrown out because of the 4th. People will be going out of town and other such plans. I say if Prescot falls on either the first or second weekend then we should just bump state to the 16th or 23 and stick with the date. For some people it is hard to get the time off so the more of an advance notice the better.

Ok well they have set a date for state. Its going to be june 23 through the 24. The location is still TBA but at least we have a date. Hope to see everyone at UTEP on Sunday.

Okay Guys our next comp is in Las Cruces @ little MOAB

We will meet at I-54 and transmountain Circle K at 8:30 drive up thru the anthony gap and straight thru to the comp site for the el paso group. New Mexico guys we will be at the comp site between 9:30 and 10 am.

Are we going to run at the bottom where we all park or up on the hill? Just to let everyone know there is still a small washout just off the road. I was out there about 2 weeks ago. The truck was ok but i doubt a car will be able to make it. I will be able to taxi people over from the parking area just off the road if anyone decides to drive a car. Hope to see everyone there.
