Default Opinions on mt setup

I hope this is newbie enough for the newbie section.

I have owned this TXT for a couple of years but have never had it running properly, I decided to finish it off over the Christmas break, but wasn’t happy with how high the COG was.

I have tried to mount everything as low as possible and as centre or forward as possible/sensible (no electrics yet as its only a mock up)

My main concern is that in my searching I havn’t seen anyone mount the battery under the tranny, is there a particular reason for that? I realise I have lost a little ground clearance, but I figure if I find it’s a problem I can run slightly longer shock to raise the chassis a bit. The battery also hangs out the sides a bit and I understand that it may get hooked up on rocks but I feel that the weight being lower is more of an advantage.

Specs
WB: 15 ½ Inches
Clearance: 4 3/8 Inches
Flex: 8 Inches under tire
45T Integy, GD600, Revo’s Moab XL’s

P.S. I hope I got the measurement written properly (I normally work in mm’s)

P.P.S. I realise I need a few brackets and a skid plate to mount everything

The weight would probably be better if it was over/on the front axle. But, if you cover the battery with a skid plate it might work good where it's at too.
