here's what I got for a high lift...

Novak Rooster crawler ESC
futaba 3005 steering
futaba 3003 shifting
Hobbico CS-70MG as a winch

Now I need a receiver and a compatible radio. I was thinking along the lines of the Spektrum DX6 for a radio and the novak XXtra for the receiver. Do they both operate on crystals? My hobby store suggested some radio/receiver combination that didn't require crystals.

What other reccomendations would you guys use for this setup?

The spectrum runs on 2.4 g, the novak is a fm unit. The DX6 comes with a rx. For crawling order it with all centering gimbals and a Robot rx. It doesn't cost anymore to get this.
