I'm getting ready to do this very thing. I have a Stampede tranny that should be here by the end of this week. I'm guessing there will be a fair amount of dremel work to make it fit. The ones I've seen done so far, have had a new chassis built up around the pede tranny. Looking at it, I think it will fit just fine with a little work. I'll post a little write up when I get mine done. |

Read the post in this forum called "Tranny Questions." There is some info in there about how to mount it. If you are going to put a stampede tranny between your stock TLT chassis plates, you either have to cut some holes in the plates to clear the spur gear, or use lots of spacers to make the whole chassis wider. Either way I think the width of your chassis will change- the Stampede tranny is a different size than the stock TLT tranny. (But they are close) There are tons of pictures of stampede-trannied TLT's out there. Go search! my 2 cents ryan |

i have a 4x4 pede. I know the stampede tranny like the back of my hand. I think the best way to mount one in a tlt would be to make a whole new chassis. You would have to put the stampede tranny on its side to make the chassis stay about as wide as stock. If you mounted the stampede tranny like it is on the stampede then you tlt would be at least an inch wider. If i were you i would just make a new chassis.

dude that kicks ass... looks good. i got the dodge body free. so why not. i let a freind borrow it for a while and he lost it. so now i have a cut up stock body.... all it is, is hood, and cab, so it looks like a real crawler. its pretty good lookin... looks pretty sick actually.
