Default just another question!!

All I need should be a Sidewinder ESC, a 8-cell split pack to go on the axles, some deans connectors, and the castle creations 10amp bec unit right? Im running it on a wheely king by the way. not serious competition, oh and stock radio, integy 55t, 96/15 gearing, widow chassis. THANKS

oh sorry i was sort of aiming for like a yes thats good, or no here is what you need answer


oh and i just read on my charger that the out put is for 4-7 cells. its a dynamite prophet plus by the way... if i get 8 cells can i charge it on 1 amp or will i need a new charger?

Yes, your list looks good.

I think the problem wouldn't be amperage but voltage. The Prophet may not put out a voltage high enough to charge a 9.6V (8 cell) battery. The voltage put out by the charger must be higher than the battery to reach full capacity.

thank you grizzly! ah tuff, i want the 8 cell but dont want to dish out money for a charger, even though i might get all the other stuff, ironic huh?

Not sure which Prophet charger you have, but I've got a Prophet Plus II which will charge 8 cells. I think the Prophet Plus will do 9. You're probably safe, unless you using a really low end or old one.

There is a SAFE way around the limitation of the charger. If you install plugs on the packs so you have 2 packs each with 4 cells then you can charge 1 pack at the time. Yes it will take you 2x as long but you and your cells will be safe. To use the packs you would have to make up a Y harness to connect to the packs in series to the ESC. There is a diagram of this on another thread.

coool thanks guys i have an older prophet... and i'll just have to try to find that thread... and yes compromising sucks but we cant have it all
