Default Newbie Rover Build

Hi, I'm new here. I am planning to build a R/C car. I am planning on a rock crawler with low torque good suspension ETC. If I can find it I will use a Land Rover Discovery 2 body. If not I will use a Defender. The guy at our local hobby shop said something about custom building the suspension links. I am pretty much set on the chassis. I am probaly going to take a kit and get some experience then modify it from there.

Any help on finding the body ?

Any help on the suspension links ?

Thanks

well it really depends on how big the truck will be. I know where to get the body but some one else will have to help u with the links. For a nice land rover body i would recomend looking at one of these trucks this one is 1:10 scale for a smaller scale build http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/1-10...land-rover-lr3 or this one is for a some what larger scale build http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/1-6-...land-rover-lr3 Sorry about the fact that they are not exactly the land rover discovery but, you could get a model version of that. If you dont want to buy the whole rc you could find some bodies on ebay without the chassis.

no one makes a disco 2 body that I am aware of. pretty big group looking too. The LR3 above is available in a 1:6 and 1:10 scale, the latter available as shown with the off roading equipment or as a street truck (that has operable doors and full interior).

There is a landy available from Hong Kong that is exceptional in detail.

this one:

also this, but roof rack and bumpers were custom:

Default chassis

I am planning to use the Axail Racing Axio Scorpion RTR for my chassis. How is its performance?
